I also bought the Cobra head. What I did was to make the straightener in the cobra head. I cut two pieces of aluminum and cut a notch then riveted them into the cobra head. You need to play around with the position of the vanes to find the best position. I found that 'X' was the best for my installation. My number 5 cylinder always run lean. Once I place the vanes in the number 5 cylinder still ran lean, but I tilted the carb and it richen to the point that both 5 & 6 run about the same temps now. Both five and six run leaner in cruise, but rich at full throttle. Rick Stockton N120EJ Europa XS, 3000L, Whirlwind ground adjustable Two cylinders off from overheating, 2 & 4. ( From 60 to 1000' ) EGT's are 1200 to 1250 on #1 thru 4 and 6. Number 5 is about 1300 ~ 1310. Outside air temp 92 degrees. My Ram Air ducts at the rear tuck back toward the front at about a 45 degree angle following the curvature of the heads. My conditional insp. is due in Sept and I am planning on tilting the bottom of the carb a little more toward the #5 cylinder. I still have not heard from anyone who has drilled out the aerator that sits on top of the needle jet and the passage to it.
