I will use two toggle switches with a guard to keep from inadvertently shutting them down. Thanks for the responses. bobby ________________________________ Message 2 _____________________________________ Time: 06:07:14 AM PST US From: BobbyPaulk@comcast.net Subject: JabiruEngine-List: Mag Rob The E-mag I am going to be using is made by Rotec in Australia. It uses about 3.5 amps at cruise RPM's. The Jabiru Mags need about 300 RPM to fire so if your battery is weak, oil is cold and thick, and the fuel doesn't want to vaporize it makes for a bad morning. We are only talking about 55 to 65 degrees. The Rotec mag will allow propping the engine so it's a win win situation. The guard I am referring to is the type that when pushed down turns the switches to OFF. The guard that works very well is a simple U on both sides of the switch sort of like this (!), They work very well, as long as the height is ABOVE that of the switch. Another type of switch would be on the order of a Landing Gear Retract Switch... It requires a PULL OUT so the switch can be moved from one position to the other. The ignition is fixed at 20 degrees BTDC, an attempt to hand prop would cause a kickback and might take your fingers. I know Paul from Rotec advertizes that it can be done, I dare him to put his attempt on Youtube.
