Subject: Alternator

I am in the process of converting my alternator coils from the parallel windings
to series in accordance with Jabiru Engineering Report AVDALSR087-2.
My question is - Will I loose amperage by doing this.
In theory the amperage should drop since the resistance of the coils in series
will go up from 1.4 to around 1.9.
Hopefully I can still get close to the16 plus amps at a cruise RPM of about 2700.
Has anyone out there tried this and can offer some information??
