For first time I climbed up to 85k. I set the throttle full for five minutes then I backed off. I was at 3000. I continued the climb, but had to increase the power to full to make it to 85k. What method do you use the climb to altitude? Rick Stockton Europa XS N120EJ JABIRU 3300L Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=443454#443454

I fly a Zodiac601 with 3300 and 400hours. I use full throttle during climb to which ever altitude but monitor CHT's. If a hot day and CHT's start to reach 330-340 then I level off and let temps return to normal than start the climb again. I CHT's stay in normal range it shouldn't matter how you climb. Just got another flight in and everything is looking good except the CHT's. I tilted the carb bottom toward the hot #6 and it came down to 1255 - #5 went up a little to 1326. CHT for #6 was 332 while #5 was 312. No 2 cylinder head temp was 333. Power was at 2550 rpm and 20" MP. If I leave the throttle at 2800 the EGT and CHT all go up. I'm already running a 260 main jet with 290 needle jet. Ground temp was 85 degrees. I can not seem to get the CHT's below 300. Any ideas?
