I have heard of an ignition coil for Jabiru engines with a 12 volt boost for starting and then goes to internal power. Has anyone had experience with it and does it help starting. Part no.?? Source?? I have a friend with a 2200 that has problem with his Rotek E-mag and would like a system not relying on a battery. Also I have a Honda coil on my right mag ( part no.30500-21C-023 ). It is a great improvement over the older coils that came on the engine (2006 model ) Does anyone know of a newer / better version than this one. Thanks for any info. What you are referring to is the Jabiru Cold Start kit. It's a helper circuit on one of the two coils that is only active when the starter motor is engaged. Once started, the system runs autonomous on the two coils, like before. See: http://www.jabiru.net.au/images/CS01-4_Cold_Start_Installation_mk1_bracket_and_pickup.pdf It's not a 'no battery' system, it helps starting in cold weather and on a weak battery though. I've never seen them on sale from a dealer, but you can always call them and ask.
