Over the years i refilled the evaporated fuel occasionally. Now after more than 15 years the samples in the avgas jar do not show any change or degradation. But on the bottom of the mogas jar you can see a lot of small chips and flocs and the parts look somewhat frayed on the edges. This gives me the confidence that my epoxy covered tanks work fine (only) with avgas. When I was at Scaled they had done tests of epoxy laminates that had been sitting in jars of 100LL for years. The final test was at 10 years if I remember right and there was no reduction in properties. Of course all epoxies are not excatly the same, but it bodes well. Ethanol in Mogas is a disatster though. Can Jeffco be somehow applied over epoxy in sealed tanks (sloshed maybe)? Al On Jan 13, 2010, at 12:13 AM, Scott Stearns wrote: I used the Jeffco stuff in aircraft spruce. I squeeged in on then painted on two coats The factory airplanes just squeeged on normal epoxy. If I did it again I'd probably just use the normal epoxy and really work it in with a squeege. Maybe add a little flox. The jeffco stuff does make the insides of the tanks look nice through the fuel cap. Thanks, that puts me at ease.
