We later swiched to a round tube of 4130.- If you can get some 2inch .095
wall tube you could weld that in.- The airfoit tube requires stiffiners
and though-better looking-was not as strong as the round tube.- |You
cand build a fairing onto the tube with glass and foam.
Rich
Sorry to here about the mishape.- Have you found the final cause?

However yesterday during another short test flt the Oil Pressure dropped ..
and after an engine surge the engine quit dead ..

Landed 50mtr short of the Runway ...Damage is ..one smashed Prop Blade and
one Nose Gear leg ..

So LOOKING to ask if anyone can give me a lead to a replacement nose gear L

Sorry to hear the damage, but you are OK which is the important thing. Use
the round tube as Rich said and make a fiberglass fairing for it. You can
make the fairing to blend into the nose wheel pant. That is what we did for
my airplane and it looks very good. I posted pics on my website:

Rich, How do you get the shock absorber out of the nose assembly on order to
check it. Mine squeaks a LOT as I taxi and it might need replacement.

It is probably not the shock absorber that you here but the springs themsel
ves..- That absorber should last forever since it is for a car which sees
a little more action than an airplane will ever see.-- If you really n
eed to take it apart just remove the top nut and get the tail down to allow
the threaded area clear the upper bracket.- remove the rubber donut and
pull the upper tube off to expose the springs..- Try greasing the springs
which rub on the tube,- you will see the shock and can move it up and do
wn to see if it is good.
