I had the original tube gear because the spring gear would not clear the oil screen housing on my 0235 so I stuck with the tube gear with some of my own mods and it made it this long. ----- Original Message ----- From: Richard Trickel To: kis-list@matronics.com Sent: Tuesday, June 22, 2010 2:54 PM Subject: Re: KIS-List: Re: local show Ken Time really flies and your daughter is old enough to fly. Congrats to her. I remember when she was born. Hope the family is all well. I do not know what gear you have so we better start there. If you have the original tube gear without shock it seems it was heat treated to a rockwell 70. the later spring/shock gears were not heat treated. The airfoil tube gear had stiffners added to the sides but again not heated. let me know Rich --- On Tue, 6/22/10, Kenneth Philcox <ken757@comcast.net> wrote: From: Kenneth Philcox <ken757@comcast.net> Subject: Re: KIS-List: Re: local show To: kis-list@matronics.com Date: Tuesday, June 22, 2010, 6:31 PM Hi Rich! Im glad to see you still have your hand in. I have been flying my Kis for 15 years now and am still around, however my daughter just bent the original nose gear thus my question . I am rebuilding the nose gear I am going to larger tubing but need to know how hard did you make the original. I have all the specs but that one. This last week I spent at the EAD show in Brasil where the company I work for Introduced their new plane called the Volare. The plane was a mock up but we are working on the molds and will start producing parts soon. Its a fourplace that is a big departure from the KiS Cruiser. Larger and more aerodynamic looking. When somebody uploads a picture on my computer I will send it along. It generated a lot of interest. Experimental aviation here is pretty big with a lot of local LSA type being designed and built and one high wing four place that I saw. here their experimental catagory is very simular to the states but most planes are built by builder assist companies. They have several that are relativly big and also set up booths at the show. The EAD show is a four day event with the first days for just businesses and then the normal population. The show was held on the field where Embrear manufactures some of their bugger planes so the participated also. They flew their EMB 195 and several others including the Phenom 100 and 300 There was quite a turnout. They had airshows Sat. & Sunday. (This works in Firefox and I assume other browsers.) Of course the accompanying text will shrink also. It looks like the device is about 6-8 inches in front of the leading edge of the tail and the device itself is about 6-8 inches long. Am I guessing right on the sizing?
