Sorry, maybe you need more inlet air. I seem to recall large louvers in
the lower side of the cowl of the Super Cruiser to let more engine
compartment air out. Kent

Scott, I cut a piece of alumium sheet and used radiator hose clamps
to mount it so it would shield the oil pan from the exhaust. Seems to
work. Kent

It's going well. My main problem is high oil temps. I
opened up the cooling exit and added a fixed cowl flap and the CHTs are
good now. One of my exhaust pipes runs close to the oil sump which may
be heating the oil. The engine also only has 6 or 7 hours on it at
flight power so the oil temp may come down with some more time on the
engine. My pitch forces seem to be a lot better than the original with
my wider chord elevator.
I'm getting 130 KIAS at about 110-120 HP without wheel
pants.

I refuse to put something that ugly on my
beautiful polished carbon fiber prince prop.
It might work though. Do a search on laminar
separation bubbles. That's what they are looking at. Some sailplane
guys put that kind of thing on their wings. I would think that it's
better to put the tape just prior to the pont of max thickness so you
get some laminar flow on the leading edge.
Cheers,
Scott

It is a nice looking plane Jessy, How large of a radius is it? I think
Julian's was about 8" at the rear.
