The M/T has a limit of 2800 rpm I think. I couldn't find anything on your prop. I found this list if you haven't seen it yet... http://www.matronics.com/archive/archive-get.cgi?Lom-Archive.digest.vol-a a Scott --- On Mon, 7/26/10, Mike Pienaar wrote: From: Mike Pienaar Subject: Re: KIS-List: Engine choice To: kis-list@matronics.com Date: Monday, July 26, 2010, 7:15 PM Hi Rich and others, Thanks for the input. Rich, this is the 4 cylinder version so I did not think that weight would be an issue Thanks for all the help Mike ----- Original Message ----- From: Richard Trickel To: kis-list@matronics.com Sent: Monday, July 26, 2010 8:10 AM Subject: Re: KIS-List: Engine choice Mike Correct me if I am wrong but I think your engine is a six cylinder inline. I looked at this engine and felt that there numbers were a little off in both weight and horsepower. Would it work? Probably. and it is an aircraft engine so it is in the right direction. Would I put it in is another question. since you already have it I would get a real all up weight of the engine/prop and find out where the engine CG is. Don=B4t forget the speciel baffling it needs. From that point run the number on a weight and balance. I would bet the cg is well forward as compared to the Lyc. This doesn`t mean it wont work. What do you have to do to make it work. The super charger will give you more horsepower for takeoff and aI think its manual so you can turn it on and off. Things to think about. I'm building a TR4 and want to confirm my engine choice will work. I bought a factory remanufactured LOM M332CE 170 HP aircraft engine with a LOM V541 constant speed propeller. This is a supercharged motor with the ability to engage and disengage the supercharger. The engine weight is +/- 250 lbs and fuel consumption is 7.6 GPH. The 170 HP is developed at 3000 rpm When I bought the motor I spoke to a Mr E David at Moravia who were then the distributors and he confirmed that he had discussions with KIS and the motor would be suitable. The only specs I can find on the web is at: http://members.fortunecity.com/xenviro/Sites/CarterEngines/LOMPraha4.htm but my engine is not included here. At the time I bought the motor I was living at an altitude of 5000 feet and thought the supercharger and low weight combined with the constant speed prop would not put me at any disadvantage compared to a normally aspirated 0-360 Lycoming with fixed prop. I am about to have the engine mount made and want to make sure I'm OK with this installation or should I switch over to a Lycoming?
