If you measure your stock elevator you will know how much I extended mine. 1 1/2" I think. At main gear touch down I have to be sure not to relax stick pressure or the nose gear will drop. If you can measure your cowl joggle to main gear center line you can compare yours with several others that "OC" has on a spread sheet. As I understand it, if you wedge your main gear forward it reduces the speed of the nose drop which reduces the need for a larger elevator to hold the nose Mine also came that way but I filled them in with micro balloons to create the 3/16 to 1/4" squared off trailing edge. I'd like to ask some questions / make some comments regarding the pictures: 1) In the bottom center of picture _57 there is a silver colored metal can with a cable like projection coming out to the right and entering the console. What is the purpose of this can? 2) On the round rotating control cross bar in this same picture there is a short welded on bar stick out to the aft that appears to hit an angled piece of metal fastened to the center console for the purpose of a nose up control stick movement pitch stop. Was this short welded on bar part of the original kit provided piece and intended for the purpose described above? What provides the stop for the nose down control stick movement? This short welded on bar, as well as the welded on mounting tab for the aileron stop bolt, did not appear on the follow on square version of the rotating cross bar in my kit #116. As a wing leveler / knob steerer it was OK. 2) "but can u give a brief run down on how the latest say Trio unit is better" My EZ Pilot controller is set up to only track the Garmin 430W inputs and it tracks great. It does give me some additional GPS readouts without having to change 430W settings. I'd say that if your Navaid is tracking to your satisfaction there is probably not sufficient reason to make the change over to the EZ Pilot. Adding that short bar to the round fixed cross control bar and then later going to the square cross section fixed cross control bar. I wish that they were still in business.
