I did basically the same thing, except I bonded the inner frame in.- I ca
n peel it out with a heat gun if I ever need to replace the window and then
make a new frame pretty quickly.- I think the most time consuming part f
or both of us would be getting the old window out and cleaning off the 3M w
indow adhesive.-
-
I put some silver trim tape around the windows.- I think it looks great a
nd it saves the time of cleaning up the intersection of the window and fuse
lage skin.-

Cheers,
Scott

Subject: KIS-List: Windows
Hi all. -Just thought I'd break the silence with my unique window install
ation method.
I decided to have the windows easily removable for replacement when the tim
e comes.

A 1/4" thick moulding is formed with fiberglass over the outside of window
cutout.
I used packaging tape as mould release.
Rubber gasket applied to the back of the moulding.
Window is set with 3M auto glass adhesive.
Moulding is attached with 8/32 ss screws and ss acorn nuts.
Outside view.
