Galin & Randy, Would you mind sharing pictures of your vortex generators on the elevator? It would be useful to know in which position the VGs have been found to be effective. I placed mine 4" in front of the hinge line on the bottom of the elevator. I immediately felt the difference and can now keep the nose wheel off the ground for quite a while before it comes down. If I try to keep the nose off the ground for a very long time, then it eventually comes down hard. I normally land with under 1300rpm's and the mains touch down at about 65kts. With a little bit of power I can hold the nose off what seems like forever. http://puertoricoflyer.com/cgi-bin/photoalbum/view_photo/2529251 <http://puertoricoflyer.com/cgi-bin/photoalbum/view_photo/2529251> http://puertoricoflyer.com/cgi-bin/photoalbum/view_photo/2539431 I can take more pictures if needed. Galin N819PR PS, I have started the change from steam gauges to a "Glass" panel. Going with the DYNON Skyview system. :o) <http://puertoricoflyer.com/cgi-bin/photoalbum/view_photo/2539431> On Sat, Apr 9, 2011 at 6:16 AM, BlueSkyFlier <bleuskyfly@teledynamix.com>wrote: > > > > Galin & Randy, > > Would you mind sharing pictures of your vortex generators on the elevator? > It would be useful to know in which position the VGs have been found to be > effective. > > Regards, > Alfred > > -------- > _________________________________________ > > > Read this topic online here: > > http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=336434#336434 > >

4/9/2011 Hello Galin, You wrote: "I placed mine 4" in front of the hinge line on the bottom of the elevator." It would appear from both your photograph and your words "..front of the hinge line.." that your vortex generators are actually placed on the bottom surface of the horizontal stabilizer and not on the bottom surface of the elevator. Ok, I did a search for "vortex generator" on the KIS list and it brought up a whole host of past messages on this same subject which made good and informative reading. Thanks, Alfred -------- _________________________________________ Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=336468#336468
