Thanks for all the great information so far. One of the reasons I enjoyed b uilding my first airplane was all the great people I met on the forum and h ow helpful they were during the process. Sounds like this group is the same way. =C2- Sounds like the Super Cruiser is a great airplane to own and fly. =C2- BTW, I'm located near Columbia, South Carolina if anyone has one not to far from here. =C2- Barry ----- Original Message ----- From: "Scott Stearns" <sstearns2@yahoo.com> Sent: Friday, December 30, 2011 1:24:40 AM Subject: Re: KIS-List: Super Cruiser Hello, It would help to know where you are located. The 4 seat KIS is the best 4 seat kits out there in my opinion. =C2-It is really a shame the business did not work out. =C2-The builder manual is very poor compared with what you get for an RV-10. =C2-=C2-I am 6'2" and i was fine in the two cruisers I have been in. =C2- If the fuselage top has not been bonded on then you can still add headroom =C2-like i did on my 2 seat KIS. =C2-The factory cruiser was at least 2 00 pounds lighter than the current factory RV-10 if they have the same engine. I would personally concider installing an IO-540 in the cruiser. =C2- I have a parallel valve 360 with ported heads, 10:1 pistons, and mechanical fuel injection=C2- in my 2 seat kis. =C2-220 HP, although i do not normally run it over 180 and never worry about hot/high. =C2-=C2-I would much rather have my engine than the 180 HP fadec engine . I don't think you can get anything but a stock engine with the fadec. I would love to have a cruiser with a 540 built like my 360. Still, put off buying an engine and avionics until you really, really need it. =C2-i have met a lot of people with 10 year old $25k=C2- engine sitting in the corner or expensive avionics that are outdated by the time the airplane flies. Barry, Like I said, I'm in Venice, FL. About an 1 1/2 hour flight with your Pulsar.
