Yes there is a part number (733699) but nobody can seem to cross 
reference the part number on the shock. They want a make model year of a 
car in order to find it. What shock are you using in your nose-wheel?

How did you like the performance of the shock you had?   Could it have been
softer or harder?

Using OC's information about the shock absorber being from a Ford Falcon, a
very tenacious O'Reilley's auto parts employee found it. It is a
Monroe-matic Plus 31069 shock absorber. You will have to cut the top cover
off in order make it fit inside the assembly but otherwise it is a perfect
fit.
