The doors on both the 2 and 4 place aircraft are rather large and from a pure strength standpoint rather flimsy out of necessity to reduce weight. Having a single strut on only one side of the door, especially one with increased pressure would be putting a constant twisting strain on the door structure each time it is closed. Additionally, when open a gust of wind would put the same or even worse twisting strain on the door. This is why my plan has always been to include two gas struts on each door. They are not expensive and the added weight is minor.
