The Oshkosh Report Appendix A
Just in case you didnt get enough here is the rest of what happened at the big
show:
OSH12 This is an airplane that really impressed me when I was a kid. It first
appeared in SA in 1968. When your 12 years old you dont think about practical
things like a seat for a passenger, room for baggage, or even a couple extra inches
to stretch out.. The Teal was sure futuristic for its time, but the KIS
TR-1 with the same hp. is only a few tics off Lesher Teals speed demon. I think
Rich joined the EAA at fifteen, and he soloed on his 16th birthday. As a kid
I poured through Richs pile of SA magazines after school while other kids were
out playing baseball, and football. My idea of fun was digging through the junk
pile at the airport across the street from our neighborhood. I was lucky enough
to tag along to my first big flyin at Rockford in 1967, and you can believe
me it was all homebuilts no commercial crap, and no military stuff to mess
up the show!!!
OSH13 A nice B-25 in Russian markings. Maybe this one was part of the lend lease
program. They forget we save them in the Big One. We should have gone with
General Patton rearm the Germans and send them to Moscow, it would have saved
us 70 years of them begin a thorn in the side that they still are. Dos Vedanya.
I have a friend whos farther was drafted into the German army at 15. They put
him on the Russian front where was a machine gunner. The Russians were tough
fighters in battle, the first wave had hunting guns, the second wave had sticks,
and the third wave had noting, they just charged at the Germans. He was captured
at the end of the war, backed up against the Black sea with nowhere to
go. They kept him in prison for 5 years, and he only survived because he played
the accordion. They would bring him out to play at different functions. When
he arrived home in the Ruhr, which was only rubble, he weighed 89 pounds.
OSH14 A-4 This baby is ready to launch on a run to take out a bunch of Cong hanging
out in the rice paddies eating Cha Gio. The beautiful jet, and many others
did fly sorties around Oshkosh throughout the show.
OSH15 Thunderbird guy almost takes out display flag! The consensus in our camp
after seeing the Blue Angels at SNF is we give it to the Blue Angels, they have
a much more interesting show, and how many times can you sneak attack the
crowd anyway?
OK, OK, I hear ya! Back to KIS stuff, thats what the forum is for!
OSH16 Just in case you forgot how bad Scotts KING KIS really isheres a couple
of pics of his new Whirl Wind ground adjustable air screw. And just to titillate
you a little bit...Scott reported with a light breeze on the tail, his GPS
was indicating in excess of 230 mph on the way to Oshkosh from sunny Southern
Cal-e-fornia. Getty up!
OSH17 Here is Bob Andersons GX3 install. Bob reports installation straight forward,
and easy. Learning curve to figure out how to work the buttons difficult!
For those of bold - Bobs Cruiser is stock. Stock elevator, and stock landing
gear position. Thats the way he likes it! You may notice a very empty flight
line. Nothing like the 'ol KIS days. There is an expanded homebuilt camping area,
but heck, its full of those darn RVcans! Seen one seen them all!
Ok I promise to shut up!

George's airplane is still for sale. And he REALLY, REALLY, REALLY needs to find
a buyer. The Subaru power maybe holding back potential buyers, but he has further
reduced the asking price.
