Subject: Fire
I am the new owner on Jerzy's fire damaged TR4 and just wanted to let people know
about a product that maybe would have reduced the chance of the resin catching
fire.
There is a type of fire resistant paint called intumescent made by Contico and others that is very effective at blocking fire. http://contegointernational.com/ http://www.flamestop.com/
I highly recommend that you paint the inside of your cowling and both sides of
your firewall with this type of paint. You may also want to add fire retardant
to other paint or at least to the primer. Anyone know of a fire retardant that
can be added to automotive paint?
