Subject: | KIS TR-1 Elevator Horn Access |
7/18/2015
Hello Kent Pyle,
1) Keith Miller wrote: "OC question , what is the access panel below the
horizontal stabilizer used for ?"
2) Kent Pyle wrote: "Elevator horn. Kent"
3) 'OC" Baker wrote: "I did not run my rudder cables all the way to the
rudder horn which would
have required having one of the cables to exit the fuselage side in order to
connect to the rudder horn.
Instead I created a bell crank mounted internally at the rear end of the
fuselage that the rudder cables connected to. Then I ran a pushrod
internally to connect to a modified rudder horn from that bell crank. Makes
for a much neater,
entirely internal, arrangement.
The access panel below the horizontal stabilizer gives me access to the bell
crank and the rudder cables and rudder push rod connections."
4) My recollection is that the elevator horn is well aft of the access panel
in question and is attached directly to the aft side of the elevator spar.
The access to the connection between the aft end of the elevator push rod
and the elevator horn is through the triangular openings on both sides of
the aft end of the fuselage. Concur?
