    Mike I assume that you put the fiberfrax between the plywood and the SS sheet. One thing that I did that I am very happy with is to put a large metal washer at each point where something is attached to the firewall, with a cutout of the fiberfrax around the washer to prevent the compression and buckling of the SS sheet when the items are tightened down. A high temp (red) RTV could work to seal the edges.     Hi Mike, Before you install the stainless steel you may also want to paint the firewall with intumescent paint. You can buy this type of fireproof paint on ebay and many places online. You may also want to paint the inside of your cowling with this paint. You can use DAP Firestop silicone to seal any firewall penetrations and the edge of the stainless. You should be able to get this at Lowes or Homedepot. I assume you are using fiberfrax or similar behind the stainless.     I did exactly the same thing. =C2-Large area washers behind the big bolts and normal washers behind the small bots. =C2-I bonded the washers on wi th the fiberfrax adhesive and I have 4 ply pads on the front of the firewal l in the engine mount attach areas. If I did it again I would make very large washers, maybe 2" in diameter, to use under the engine mount attach bolts. =C2-=C2- I used red RTV around the edge of the firewall. =C2- I also plan to coat the inside of my cowl with this... http://www.homedepot.com/p/ForceField-FireGuard-E-84-5-gal-Intumescent-Prim er-FFGD-E84-g05/203582028?cm_mmc=shopping-_-googleads-_-pla-_-203582028&c i_sku 3582028&ci_gpa=pla&ci_src=17588969&gclid=CKmZ5srE2coCFUOVfg od4nkGtQ&gclsrc=aw.ds It is a primer coat, but it expands when exposed to flame to form a thick i nsulation. =C2- There are some very impressive videos on you tube. =C2- I would also put a couple coats on the firewall and maybe on the underside of the forward fuselage where the cooling air comes out. =C2-=C2- Scott Hi All I'm in the process of installing the stainless steel firewall, should I sea l the edge and if yes what do I use?=C2-Thanks=C2-Mike #yiv9330359423 .yiv9330359423mceResizeHandle {position:absolute;border:1 px solid black;background:#FFF;width:5px;height:5px;z-index:10000;}#yiv9330 359423 .yiv9330359423mceResizeHandle:hover {background:#000;}#yiv9330359423 img .filtered99999 {outline:1px solid black;}#yiv9330359423 img.yiv9330359 423mceClonedResizable, #yiv9330359423 table.yiv9330359423mceClonedResizable {position:absolute;outline:1px dashed black;z-index:10000;}
