You just flap your arms up and down really fast and blow right?=C2-

Actually that question is no joke, I started back with some dual back in Oc
tober and got about 10 hours in after an 18 year break.=C2- I was the abs
olute definition of a Rusty Old Pilot.=C2- A lot has changed procedure wi
se but the flying part was like riding a bicycle.=C2- Didn't take long to
get back to feeling good in the air.=C2- I had asked the instructor give
me a real workout and he did.
=C2-
The bigger issue turned out to be my Medical Certificate had not been renew
ed in 18 years and the FAA doesn't much like people with diabetes.=C2- Th
ey didn't care that it had been under total control from shortly after the
diagnosis. I wasn't on an approved combination of medications.=C2- Spent
the last six months going back and forth with them even after the doctor ch
anged my meds.=C2- Got notice of medical special issuance on Saturday wit
h First Flight on Sunday.

Can I say it was a GREAT WEEKEND!!!

Congratulations Bob on N247BR=99s first flight! You completed the pro

it took. Soon enough you will be at the controls of your aircraft and enjoy
flying a fine KIS Cruiser.

This morning shortly after=C2-9AM=C2-KIS Cruiser N247BR lifted off for
about 45 minutes before a very smooth and uneventful landing. I did not mak
e the initial flight and had a professional test pilot perform the testing.
I will transition to the flight testing after the most critical phases hav
e been completed and the test pilot has met the qualified pilot requirement
s.=C2-
The only thing the test pilot had as a negative was one reported by multipl
e Cruiser pilots regarding the amount of elevator control during the landin
g. =C2-His one other comment was that it was a very comfortable plane to
fly. The controls were responsive and solid without being overly sensitive
and he enjoyed flying. He has logged more than thirty different homebuilts
and performed multiple first flights.=C2-
Thanks to all of the members of this newsgroup for the support you have all
contributed to this moment. Those who have experienced that first flight k
now the multitude of emotions that I experienced this morning and how speci
al it was.=C2-
