Mark,

You bring up some very valid points and I'll be keeping them in mind while performing
the final prepurchase inspection.  I have never heard anything regarding
auto fuel having a detrimental affect on  composite integrity.  What is the
concern here?

The alcohol in auto fuel can compromise the fuel tanks and some parts of the fuel
system of aircraft.  Theres also some issues with how alcohol can interact
with water.
