Subject: | Looking for a pilot with KIS experience |
Hi, I have an opportunity to purchase a 2 seat KIS aircraft, and I would like to
take a pre-purchase flight. This plane has been flown regularly and is airworthy.
My only experience is with Cessna's and Piper's and the previous pilot has
passed away so I am working with his estate to make the purchase.
The insurance company will insure the flight as long as the PIC has 2+ hours in
type. I am located at Rio Vista airport(o88).
Thanks, any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Hey, Jeff. I live in Petaluma, but I don't know any KIS drivers offhand.
The first thing I would do is check the EAA chapter map and send an
email to a bunch of the nearby EAA chapters. They will know if anyone
owns a KIS. There's a chapter in Rio Vista, actually, but you probably
already know that. Here's the the link:
https://www.eaa.org/apps/chapters/chaptermap.aspx

Your message might be a stroke of luck for me, and maybe you can help
me, too. I am about to pull the trigger on a TR-1 in Wisconsin, but I'm
concerned about fitting into the cockpit with enough headroom and
legroom. Any chance you can connect to me to the seller of the plane in
Rio Vista? I'd like to ask him if I could come and do a test fit in the
cockpit. I have family friends that live in Rio Vista, so it would be a
good excuse to go pay them a visit.
Cheers!

I just emailed all of the chapters from Rio Vista west. Basically the
north bay and Concord. I will let you know if I come up with anything.

Welcome to the Forum. I have lots of KIS4 (4 seat) time but no 2 seat time
AND I am in Florida. Hopefully you can get one of the several West Coast
pilots to help out.
