Subject: | Can I use the L 2 Antenna for ADSB |
Hi All, I'm reaching out in hopes someone has knowledge of the Advanced Aircraft
Electronics L2 antenna. I have this installed in my plane and connected to a
Garmin GTX 320 transponder. I would like to install a Garmin GNX 375 which includes
ADS-B in/out. I currently do not have ADSB.
I'm trying to discern if this antenna meets the necessary specs required for ADSB. I have had no luck contacting the company over the past few months, I have left many messages and submitted numerousemails but have never receiveda reply. Quite frankly I'm wondering if they are still in business because there is no way, that I can see, to even place an order on their site.http://www.advancedaircraft.com/
I reached out to Aircraft Spruce, because they are selling the L2 antenna, but
they were unable to answer my question. At thispoint, I guess my two options is
wait and see if it works, or replace it with a new one.
Thanks Much,
Jeff
KIS TR-1, #099

I have a new old stock TR-1 windshield, a main gear, wing tips, cowling with a
large hole in the top and other TR-1 parts for sale. I also have some metal parts
including some nose gear parts. Let me know what you need and I will see
if I have it.
I also made some CNC aluminum TR-1 door hinges. They are more similar to the TR-4
hinges but sized to fit the TR-1. Much stronger and easier to install than
the factory method.

I am planing on redoing my TR4 panel and most likely will have one or more inserts
CNC cut. Does anyone have an accurate cad drawing of the panel?

The AAE L-2 antenna is the same one I have in my KIS4 for both transponder
OUT and ADS-B IN. It works extremely well in our fiberglass airplanes. The
frequencies involved (1090Mhz & 978Mhz) are so close you will not notice
any difference in power without using a sensitive spectrum analyser and are
in a lab controlled environment.
I have attached a photo of my installation as reference.

FWIW; My ADS-B IN comes from a separate module not from my transponder,
hence the two antennas.
