Only problem with them is they charge pounds for dollars so it would cost
almost twice as much.
Thanks anyway
Chris

Don Smythe, congratulations on your retirement. Just saw your Flag
Ceremony Pic on Sportflight. Can't wait till I get there. Now you can
play with the Fox full time.

David and All,
Thanks, it's a time of bitter sweet memories. However, it's mostly
sweet. The flag pic didn't have much to do with Kitfox but sure was important
to
me. The Rich man just bought a new R-22 to replace his little mishap last
year. The R-22 is in Seattle, Wa. and I might be going back with him in Jan to
fly it home to Va. We will fly down through Ca. and cross the Rockies at the
southern end for the track eastward. I might be asking for some stop over
points when the time comes near.
All have a safe and happy holidays.

I love the State of Ohio. Every year since I can remember it costs $6.00 to
register my Kitfox with the state. This year I got my registration
application and it costs $100.00. I can see an increase, but $100.00? Give
me a break. I thought the AOPA has people that watch legislation. The 125th
Ohio General Assembly passed this jewel. Jeff Puls

stop over in Columbus on the way back we can hanger it for the night. Jeff

Thank you for this valuable information, Scott. I will also seek help from a
better knowing person.
Cheers,
Michel

Nothing's wrong with the Sterling pound, Chris. It's rather the US dollar that
is rock bottom for the time being.
Cheers,
Michel

I am not sure I understand, Kirk. Are those "small wheels on skis" or "wheel
penetration skis?" Do you have a photo you could post?
Cheers,
Michel

Hi Michel, good to hear from you again.
Yeah the pounds ok but it's always been a case that if I paid the equivalent
in pounds the parts for my poor little MKII would make it too expensive to
repair. There are loads of planes over here sat not being repaired for that
reason.
Give you an idea of the impact of buying the spares in the UK as opposed to
the US, assuming you can get them that is.
My new set of undercarriage legs would have cost me around 1200 in the UK,
as it is they'd cost 529 from Skystar. Due to Steve Winder in the US I've
got a brand new set of legs for around 260 which is a big difference, now I
need my fabric which John Balunda has kindly offered to convey from Sky
Ranch to UPS. I got a new set of wheels and tyres from Dee Young for what a
set of tyres would cost over here and my new ribs were brought in by Steve
Winder at half the cost of over here. It's the difference between being able
to afford to fly and not be.
All in all the cost of the parts for my repairs would be around 5,500
($9,350), as it is my repairs are more affordable.
One thing I will say is the Kitfox guys in the US are a cracking bunch of
guys, without them flying a Kitfox in the UK would be too expensive.
I've now been given the Kitfox Owners Club UK to run so hopefully we'll be
able to form some stronger ties with some of you Kitfox flyers in other
parts of the world, maybe some of us can even get over to meet some of you!
In the not too distant future I'm hoping to up load a Uk web site, I'll
email the url to the newsgroup once it's up and running.
Personally I'm going to try to go to Oshkosh this year and, in the process,
meet some of the guys who have helped me and buy them a beer.
Are you the only Kitfox flyer in your country or do you have any others or
even a club?
Happy landings
Chris
