They had only microlight licenses. Hi Michel, I was going by Aero club conversation rather than looking it up or asking the authorities so I will now go and check conclusively. I also read a magazine article by a French ultralighter who was not allowed to fly through Austria. Maybe Austria has a bilateral agreement with Norway recognising your ultralight qualifications. My personal opinion is if someone is qualified to fly in their home country they should be recognised in another - microlight, PPL or whatever. I fly in Austria on my Australian PPL with an Austrian recognition certificate. And you're right, so many people don't fly or give it up because they think they have to fly something they can't afford. There are many ways to get airborne and the Kitfox one of the best. Hello Kerry, I just called my former instructor and the story is like this: Yes, they did made one stop in Austria on their way to Italy and yes, you need a PPL-A license to fly in Autria. One of the four Sky Arrow pilot had a PPL-A license. But they were never asked questions about the three others. They didn't realise it was compulsory before they were back to Norway, either. It just goes to show that a better knowledge of our different rules is needed. A web site that would gather this would be very welcomed. Cheers, Michel do not archive ________________________________ Message 5 _____________________________________ Time: 12:07:06 PM PST US From: "Kitfox" Subject: Re: Kitfox-List: Re: European Kitfoxes --> Kitfox-List message posted by: "Kitfox" Seems like I'm going to have to get this Kitfox Owners web site up and running!!! A rather unusual situation has come up that could be of interest to list members that might like to step up to a series 7 and currently have a flying, 912 powered, Classic 4. We have a customer who is looking for a 912 Classic 4 that is ready to go for recreational flying while he is building his Series 7. I will pull up short of saying that we will take a "trade-in" on a new Series 7, but we could have a situation wherein, you, SkyStar and the gent looking for a "time builder" could all end up winners. Please contact me off line at edd@skystar.com or (800) 554-8369. Happy Holidays to one and all, Ed Downs ________________________________ Message 7 _____________________________________ Time: 01:47:02 PM PST US From: KITFOXZ@aol.com Subject: Kitfox-List: E-Bay Listing: Multi-Room Home With Private Air Strip --> Kitfox-List message posted by: KITFOXZ@aol.com E-Bay listing: This is the perfect set up for any Kitfox owner!
