Paul, He had the GSC. It was pitched for cruise, as I recall, but he
climbed well also. About the weights, I don't know. He had the spring gear
which adds a few pounds, but no fairings.

Builders,
I have two more questions. First, has anyone used the T-88 epoxy instead of
the 3M that Skystar supplies, and if so, were you happy with the results? Second
question is that I was wondering about the Pacific NorthWest vortex generators.
Is anyone out there using them? If so, how do you compare the performance
with and without? Also, was it a good company to deal with?

I did. I used the Grove tailwheel spring that sets the tailwheel about 2"
farther aft. I didn't do it for ground handling, but for cg considerations.
Every little bit helps. As for ground handling, if the kitfox is set up
geometricly correct (main gear being neutral) it should track straight as an
arrow.

I'd agree with Darrel on this, my series 5 track's perfectly straight
and is just right as far as sensitivity goes. I did get to "try" taxiing
Ron Liebmann's early model Kitfox, and only Ron's fast feet kept us on the
taxiway ... I think in this case the ratio of tailwheel to rudder was
much faster than I'm used to.

Just noticed that there's a new trend in stereo headphones, for
traveller's, etc. Which is ANR stereo headphones. And they're very
cheap.
Has anybody thought about taking the ANR electronics from for instance
Panasonics RP-HC70 ANR headphones, and adapting them to their aviation
headsets?
The RP-HC70's can be purchased for around $35-40 and have electronic
noise reduction circuitry built-in. It seems doable if the impedance
is close.

Does anyone know of a source for an aluminum step that can be bolted to

John,
I have always used Honda GN4 oil in both my Kitfox's (912UL & 912ULS).
I use both leaded and unleaded fuels and when I use 100LL I add TCP to
the fuel. The GN4 has a gear box additive that Rotax recommends.

Can't imagine a longer tailspring doing anything for the type of ground
handling problems that really cause problems,,,, that is those after you
have rudder control or as you slow down and slowly loose rudder control,,,
unless you move the rudder back further also, and thats not practical is it.

Marc, I guess you are just spacing out.
After you write the entire message, try resizing the window your message is
in. If it STILL looks good when you review it, but the spaces are missing
when you read it via the list, then something is altering the message
between your computer and the list server. I don't know what that could be,

Bombardier no longer recommends Castrol GPS oil for the 912S. Their
"highly" recommended oil for use with leaded and unleaded fuels (Shell
Advance VSX 4) is not available in the US. So what are you 912S drivers
using when you are running both leaded and unleaded fuels? I just received
a case of Castrol's GPS. Should I use it or sell it to a motorcycle
enthusiast?
Does anyone know of a source for an aluminum step that can be bolted to
Grove speing gear?
Thanks in advance,
John Banes

Hello List
Has anyone had any experience with fuel catalysts. I have been reading up about
this Fitch brand and it sure sound great.
The reason I may consider something like this is that the fuel around here is only
87 octane (regular gas) and I need at least 91. I am also looking into octane
boosters and even shipping up premium gas. So I thought I would throw this
fuel catalysts idea out to the list.
Shane...... and it is still cold here -30 last night but maybe -12 by Saturday.
We can hope!

John,
Where are you getting TCP ? I have had some on order with Aircraft Spruce
for 7 months now. I have had no luck in finding an alternative.

John,
I have always used Honda GN4 oil in both my Kitfox's (912UL & 912ULS).
I use both leaded and unleaded fuels and when I use 100LL I add TCP to
the fuel. The GN4 has a gear box additive that Rotax recommends.
