I replaced the whole thing. Jim's idea is great if you are O.K. with the
Maule assembly and just want the smoother ride. That was the first thing I
noticed after the change.

Thanks Kurt, Jim and Lowell. I was a bit confused as to which spring they were
talking about: the two springs connecting to the rudder or the actual
suspension flat steel spring. Now I understand it is the latter. (we, elderly,
need time to think! :-)
So, I guess the "standard 45 degrees" would be the one I should buy.
Yes, I need a complete new set. My Maule is getting more and more floppy. I
took it apart last winter and I don't understand where the wear is coming from.
The axis is not moving up and down but the arms are quite loose. Replacing the
bushing, IMHO, won't do a thing.
Cheers,
Michel

Sounds like a good idea to me. I swear the 'Fox
tailwheel acts just like a needle on an old record
player. I've always been able to feel ever pebble in
the tarmac!
Thanks,

Hey Jim,
For your Maule did you order the homebuilder's 6"
replacement wheel/tire/bearings (Spruce P/N 06-03600
for $26.40) or are different bearings needed?
Thanks in advance.

I know this fuel line situation may be a sore subject, but I have become a victim
of the problem! the lines were not my main problem, it was the fuel pump,
in finding this problem , I discovered the lines were bad. I will replace all
of them due to my investigation. Everyone should just be aware of my findings,
and maybe look at there lines.
Thanks

Michel,
Maule is talking about the angle your flat steel spring is in relation the the
ground. I have a model II and the tail wheel pivot shaft is always leaning back
about 6 degrees. This defeats the castoring of the tail wheel properly. The pivot
shaft should be perpendicular to the ground with no load. I made a wedge
shim to correct the problem and get the engineered castored wheel in the right
attitude. The angle is measured right where you mount the wheel. All springs
are bent differently and have different angles on them.

Lowell, are either of those tailwheels in serviceable condition? Want to

Has anyone wired the Terra Nav radio to the Tri-Nav C head or possibly have
access to these radios to see where a couple of the wires go? Specifically,
on the TN200D nav I can't figure out to which pin on the Tri-Nav-C the
VOR/LOC output (pin 15) and the ILS Energizer output (pin 4) goes. Any help would
be appreciated.
Thanks,
