--> Kitfox-List message posted by: "Don Pearsall" <donpearsall@comcast.net> Jimmie, Congratulations on your new purchase. There are cannon to Mono plug adapters. Your larger audio stores may carry it. Maybe even Radio Shack. Or you can order on-line. Just enter Bose Plug adapter into Google and you will get some hits. For sure Bose will have the adapters, so you should also check with a Bose headset dealer. Those headsets are QUITE expensive too. The airplane has the standard headset jacks and the cannon connector receptacles. Anyone know why Bose uses the cannon plug type connectors? Wonder if they make a converter cable so that I could use these headsets in an airplane that only has the standard jacks. Jimmie

Thanks John, then I stand corrected and Robert's question makes much more sense. I guess that if these guys want you to report your altitude, it is because the area is covered by a radar and then I would conclude that yes, it is a controlled airspace. --> Kitfox-List message posted by: "Peter Graichen" <n10pg@neo.rr.com> Hello Jimmie: The plug/jack configuration of the first two generation Bose headsets is of the unconventional type because they not only have connections for mike and audio but also provide power for the noise-canceling circuitry. Bose does make an adapter to let your headsets function properly when plugged into standard JJ-033 and JJ-034 jacks. This adapter includes a compartment for AA batteries to power the noise canceling feature Peter Graichen http://home.neo.rr.com/n10pg/kitfox.htm -----Original Message----- From: owner-kitfox-list-server@matronics.com [mailto:owner-kitfox-list-server@matronics.com]On Behalf Of Jimmie Blackwell Subject: Kitfox-List: Bose Headsets --> Kitfox-List message posted by: "Jimmie Blackwell" <jablackwell@ev1.net> I just bought a Model IV today and got two Bose headsets both of which have cannon plug connectors. I guess an alternate question is, what is your empty weight in the Speedster configuration? When I built mine and certified it, it is an early model 5 , I purchased the quick change wings kit to go from speedster to long wing configuration. In the short wing configuration, the aircraft has a gross weight of 1200 lbs as prescribed by skystar and that is what is written in my airworthiness forms. So conceivably my aircraft meet the LSA weight limit in the speedster configuration. > > Love to hear anyones comments? > > Gary Borrmann > > Series 5 O-200 > >

Right??? > > Dave Savener > Dave, Been there and done that. The wires at the plugs screw in. The wires at the coil end just pushes in. The center wire in the coil is not threaded like on the plug ends. You must use a locktite type adhesive (forget the name/number) for the coil end. That is why you are seeing a resistance unscrewing the coil end of the wire. They are glued in. I used a small jewelers screw driver and forced it all around the edges to loosen the glue. Take your time and work them out slowly to prevent breaking the center coil wire. I bought Rotax replacement plug wire from Spruce and received something that had very little copper compared to the original Rotax wire. Re-ordered from CPS and got the actual replacement wire (same amount of copper). Don Smythe DO NOT ARCHIVE

The wires from CPS had the same amount of copper as the original Rotax wire. Buy from CPS. The Spruce wire had almost "NO" copper in it. Real cheapo stuff. Don Smythe

--> Kitfox-List message posted by: John King <kingjohne@adelphia.net> Michel, Yes, I agree. If you fly through Class B or C controlled airspace and your transponder stops putting out altitude, they make you report all altitude changes. That is assuming that your transponder is still squawking the designated code. -- John King Warrenton, VA Michel Verheughe wrote: >--> Kitfox-List message posted by: Michel Verheughe <michel@online.no> > > > >>From: John King [kingjohne@adelphia.net] >>Our charts in the USA do show a Mode C ring around Class B airports. >> >> > >Aha! Subject: Official Usage Guideline [Please Read] [Monthly Posting]
DNA: do not archive --> Kitfox-List message posted by: Matt Dralle <dralle@matronics.com> Dear Lister, Please read over the Kitfox-List Usage Guidelines below. The complete Kitfox-List FAQ including these Usage Guidelines can be found at the following URL: http://www.matronics.com/FAQs/Kitfox-List.FAQ.html Thank you, Matt Dralle Matronics Email List Administrator ****************************************************************************** Kitfox-List Usage Guidelines ****************************************************************************** The following details the official Usage Guidelines for the Kitfox-List. You are encouraged to read it carefully, and to abide by the rules therein. Failure to use the Kitfox-List in the manner described below may result in the removal of the subscribers from the List. Kitfox-List Policy Statement The purpose of the Kitfox-List is to provide a forum of discussion for things related to this particular discussion group. The List's goals are to serve as an information resource to its members; to deliver high-quality content; to provide moral support; to foster camaraderie among its members; and to support safe operation. Reaching these goals requires the participation and cooperation of each and every member of the List. To this end, the following guidelines have been established: - Please keep all posts related to the List at some level. Do not submit posts concerning computer viruses, urban legends, random humor, long lost buddies' phone numbers, etc. etc. - THINK carefully before you write. Ask yourself if your post will be relevant to everyone. If you have to wonder about that, DON'T send it. - Remember that your post will be included for posterity in an archive that is growing in size at an extraordinary rate. Try to be concise and terse in your posts. Avoid overly wordy and lengthy posts and responses. - Keep your signature brief. Please include your name, email address, aircraft type/tail number, and geographic location. A short line about where you are in the building process is also nice. Avoid bulky signatures with character graphics; they consume unnecessary space in the archive. - DON'T post requests to the List for information when that info is easily obtainable from other widely available sources. Consult the web page or FAQ first. - If you want to respond to a post, DO keep the "Subject:" line of your response the same as that of the original post. This makes it easy to find threads in the archive. - When responding, NEVER quote the *entire* original post in your response. DO use lines from the original post to help "tune in" the reader to the topic at hand, but be selective. The impact that quoting the entire original post has on the size of the archive can not be overstated! - When the poster asks you to respond to him/her personally, DO NOT then go ahead and reply to the List. Be aware that clicking the "reply" button on your mail package does not necessarily send your response to the original poster. You might have to actively address your response with the original poster's email address. - DO NOT use the List to respond to a post unless you have something to add that is relevant and has a broad appeal. "Way to go!", "I agree", and "Congratulations" are all responses that are better sent to the original poster directly, rather than to the List at large. - When responding to others' posts, avoid the feeling that you need to comment on every last point in their posts, unless you can truly contribute something valuable. - Feel free to disagree with other viewpoints, BUT keep your tone polite and respectful. Don't make snide comments, personally attack other listers, or take the moral high ground on an obviously controversial issue. This will only cause a pointless debate that will hurt feelings, waste bandwidth and resolve nothing. ------- [This is an automated posting.]
