--> Kitfox-List message posted by: "Graeme Toft" <msm@byterocky.net> Lowell, as Rex has already mentioned, I have changed over to the Iridium plugs also and cannot speak highly enough about them. Because I do a lot of beach work I need to be sure the motor going to light up without cranking all day. I have been stuck on a beach with a rising tide and its disconcerting to say the least. Since I changed the plugs and replaced the old wet cell battery with the Odyssey, my engine starts with one rotation of the prop every time. Just my 2 bobs worth. --> Kitfox-List message posted by: "John Stoner" <john@dakotacubaircraft.com> Pete, The bolts on my Model III that connect the Lord mount to the firewall engine mount are AN5-30, the nuts are AN310-5. The bolts that I think you are referring to are the ones that hold the Lord mount onto the aluminum engine mount brackets that attach to the engine, these are AN3-6A, the nuts are AN365-1032. My bolts have been contacted frequently enough to bend the large area safety washers a little. I believe this contact occurs when the engine is shaking violently in a too low idle setting situation or, as in my case, when the engine occasionally gives a good hard shake at shutdown. --> Kitfox-List message posted by: "Peter Brookes" <pdbrookes@blueyonder.co.uk> Thanks John. It is the firewall engine mount I was referring to. This is a great help. The bolts on my fox have been pushed through from the bottom with the nut at the top, which leaves more to contact with the washer. I have thought of reversing this with the new bolts so there is left surface area to foul (unless there is a specific reason for this!). I was told by an inspector that all bolts should be dropped through from the top so if the nut comes off, the bolt still remains in place. I don't suppose that matters on something that will shake out anyway!! -----Original Message----- From: owner-kitfox-list-server@matronics.com [mailto:owner-kitfox-list-server@matronics.com]On Behalf Of John Stoner Subject: Kitfox-List: Re: Lord Mount Bolts --> Kitfox-List message posted by: "John Stoner" <john@dakotacubaircraft.com> Pete, The bolts on my Model III that connect the Lord mount to the firewall engine mount are AN5-30, the nuts are AN310-5.
