Mike, there's no problem flying with the doors off. Gets a little windy if
you fly uncoordinated so make sure that anything laying around is secured or
you'll be searching the country side to find it. Charts will be the first
      to go.

If you have the right door setup, there is an alternative to flying with the
doors off. I have the standard door (solid bottom/Lexan top). I attach the
upper lexan with screws around the door frame. In the summer, I take off
the upper lexan portion. This cuts down the draft a bit and gives you the
feeling of sitting in sports car. Just prop your elbow up on the ledge and
enjoy. Also, there are some passengers that get quite intimidated with the
doors off. This method gives you and the passengers a sense of security
with wide openness at the same time.

Just Like most of the Kitfox flyers on the list, I set back and take advantage
of all the great ideas and information posted and feel guilty I don't have much
to offer when it comes to contributing trouble shooting. I can't say enough
good things about the input from experienced owners to help there fellow flyers.
With that said I once again need to ask for a little help myself with a problem
I am having. It would seem I have a Ducati E-Box that has went or is going
bad and I'm not sure I know the proper way to trouble shoot my problem. At 300.00

Model III FOR SALE OR POSSIBLE TRADE 740 hr TTA&E, NDH, Rotax 912 UL (80 hp).
Extremely clean and maticulously cared for. This is one of the nicest kitfoxes
I have seen anywhere (It was built by Mr. Kitfox himself, Ed Downs - Former Skystar
President). Many upgrades that were built into the kit make it more similar
to the Classic IV than the Model III. The interior is a 10/10 and the exterior
is 9.5/10. Email me for spec sheet and included items, pics can be seen
on Barnstormers.com. Asking $27k, reasonable offers considered.

      Jim,
For yours and everyone elses information on the list.... A sure way to
weaken or even blow an e-box is to run the engine with the spark plug cap
disconnected from the spark plugs. Hopefully you have not done any damage.
I cannot e-mail you a test page, but if you e-mail me a fax munber I will
gladly send you a page outlining the various tests you need to do to
determine serviceablility of the ignition system parts. You will need a
multi-meter (ohm meter) to do these tests,

Wheww!, I just today had to tell a customer that he blew an e-box.
The dead air on the other end of the phone line is deafening.
I am going to try scanning the page and then sending to you via e-mail.
Yup!, darned electronic age means I have to learn new stuff.
If you don't get the page, send a fax number...

      regards
