I went to the local auto parts store and purchased mine and it worked fine.
They use these for truck cap doors.

I purchased on (at the tune of 40 bucks!) from a truck-bed-top-thingie
dealer...It ended up not being powerful enough, so in a dive it likes to
slam shut on the passenger! Don't want to bring it back because it's a pain

I am sure you will receive lots of responses to this as it has been a REAL
hot topic over the years. Yes the MIL-6000 line is the bad stuff. If you use
auto-gas, the additives will deteriorate the line. If you use only av-gas
that hose will probably be OK. If there is an alternative available, use
that and stay away from the MIL-6000.

You already heard about the Mil 6000 stuff. I simply went to the hardware
store and bought some 3/8" barb fittings that would screw into the tanks.
Then, go to Spruce and get the 3/8" Polyurethane hose. Switching to 3/8"
over 5/16" will give you better feed and vent capabilities. I've read
several articles about the Tygon tubing. First, the hardware store variety
of Tygon most likely is not "fuel" rated. The "yellow" Tygon is fuel rated
but I've "heard" several comments over the years that the Yellow Tygon will
harden over time. I've always used the clear Polyurethane and it has never
hardened but will turn yellowish over time. I tend to replace rubber fuel
lines yearly or at least every two years.

The auto hose is compatible with most any thing because that is what
is in auto fuel. Don't worry about using 100LL with auto hose it will
work fine. The clear hose products are not as compatible to many
chemicals and are not recommended for auto fuel because the fuel
varies a great deal from region to region and time to time. The stuff
may work on one city but not another.
Plain old SAE R-7 or R-9 is readily available in 5/16" size that is
recommended for a Kitfox and all the engines that are used. Lots of
kitfox builders are using 3/8" hose and fittings for extra margin
against pressure drop. Highly recommended.
Good advice to avoid Mil-6000 hose. Even though my long term testing
with Colorado front range auto gas showed no deterioration or
swelling I know there are chemicals used in other places that react
with the Mil-6000 hose. The SAE hose is designed to be compatible
with all kinds of fuel. So be safe and use SAE hose for auto gas.

See how confusing English can be? What I meant was, all of the
Frenchmen I know that speak English speak it with a British accent
and use British idioms. Therefore, they learned to speak English
from Brits, not from Americans.
My comment probably should have been, "That's the problem with the
French too, they learn English from the British!"
Heck, I was joking in the first place guys, but thanks for the
linguistic history lesson!

Mike so was I having a little fun. That why I added the part about Billy
sowing his seeds!
When I said I was a brit. That was a half truth!
I was a brit a long time ago. I have resided in the US since 1983, since that
time we have become US citizens and liking it.
Not only that, I am from Wales and we talk a little bit different from the
English English or Oxford English! So my accent is kinda like...Well, if you
have ever seen the film; "The Englishman who went up a hill and came down a
mountain" starring Hugh Grant. You will know what I mean.
That is typical of the area I am from.
So in a nutshell, I don't know where the bloody ell (we don't pronounce the
H's in Wales) we get the accent from.
Who knows, maybe back in istory the name was Whales!! (kidding)

I've uploaded a good number of photos from some of my recent flights
(including from my 11 hr, 3-day odyssey to VA). It's funny - I can't seem
to stop snapping pictures since I got this 8mp Digital-SLR camera! Anyway,
don't have one, it's real easy to sign-up. And check back often, as I'll
keep it updated :) Also, there are some photos of my Ultralight-flying days,
as well as my GA training (still in progress - Instrument ticket in a couple
weeks, Commercial Multi-Engine soon there-after!) Enjoy!
