My mistake, then, John. Adding a smiley would have helped me to understand joviality
of it.
English is the de facto international language. As a matter of fact, when I exchange
email with my collegues, here in Norway, it is often in English, with regards
to the fact that the information may need to be forwarded to our Indian,
Polish and Canadian collegues.
To add to the American vs. British English debate, it is true that in most of the
European countries I know of, British English is what is first thaught at school.
Probably because UK is closer to us.

I discovered this company that will manufacture custom gas struts for quite
a reasonable price. In my case, about $40 for a very high quality custom
shock. (non Kitfox related in this case)
By custom, he can manufacture any material, diameter, length, pressure,
configuration, whatever. He can even adjust the pressure after-the-fact if
you send his strut back to him.
The owner, Stephen, is bubbling with knowledge and enthusiasm and is a hoot
to work with. He will coach you with the entire process. He says he is one
of the only companies in North America that provides this service at this
time. This guy needs business and deserves to succeed.

from Lockwood, (page 150 of the Lockwood catalog), that would not
fit under my cowling. It has never been used, but does have two
extra holes drilled in the mounting bracket as a result of my

What I also like about the SAE hose is it is structurally tough. It is
never going to accidentally kink or get crushed by a piece of baggage. It
is also cheap enough and readily available enough that I can replace it on a
whim.

The auto hose is compatible with most any thing because that is what
is in auto fuel. Don't worry about using 100LL with auto hose it will
work fine. The clear hose products are not as compatible to many
chemicals and are not recommended for auto fuel because the fuel
varies a great deal from region to region and time to time. The stuff
may work on one city but not another.
Plain old SAE R-7 or R-9 is readily available in 5/16" size that is
recommended for a Kitfox and all the engines that are used. Lots of
kitfox builders are using 3/8" hose and fittings for extra margin
against pressure drop. Highly recommended.
Good advice to avoid Mil-6000 hose. Even though my long term testing
with Colorado front range auto gas showed no deterioration or
swelling I know there are chemicals used in other places that react
with the Mil-6000 hose. The SAE hose is designed to be compatible
with all kinds of fuel. So be safe and use SAE hose for auto gas.

Hi ! Andrew, I live in Australia so the situation might be different but
have you considered having the struts you have regassed to a higher
pressure. This would save finding other struts and maybe having to modify
fittings. Also you virtually know they will then work. I had two struts one
got a little weaker and the other was as always but I thought it would be
better with a little more pressure. I got that one regassed to 15% more
pressure and the weak one to match. It's now great and the cost in Australia
anyway is only $22 per strut while you wait a lot of times. Rex.

All,
I have an NSI radiator ( 6 x 4 x 22 ) and its too big. I don't have a
thermostat
and I have to block off about 1/3 of it during the summer and 2/3 during
the
winter to get my water temps above 150 degrees F.
I'd like to go with a smaller radiator to reduce the drag as well. I've
figured that
at 80 kts its using about 5 HP in drag hanging out in the bottom
slipstream.
( 1 sq ft. @ 80 kts @ est. Dcoef 1.2 ).
I've got two 1.125" hose ports. Any sources or ideas ?
