I have a BMW thermostat plumbed in to mine and it works great. I put the
radiator inside the cowling and with careful baffling, it keeps the engine
cool. With this setup, it is imperative to have an oil cooler since a lot
of the air going through the radiator goes by the muffler first.

When I was running an EA 81 I was able to put a Ford Escort t-stat into

This had been used by someone else on this list and it worked for me.

Things seemed pretty quiet. They're definately
trying to run low-overhead. They indicated they're
doing OK. Orders coming in here and there.
Definately not the same company I visited nearly 9
yrs ago now. I did visit their booth up at OSH and
they had a nice setup. Hopefully things will work
out for them.

This reminds me of the Avid Flyer company. I use to have one with a 2180 VW
on it and as I was building it the conversation was the same on the Avid web
site about the company not making it. Now I'm looking to take on a Series V
project. Kind of scary! Later Neil

Here's some interesting information. The Aircraft Spruce "heavy duty
homebuilder special tailwheel" is installed on the Aerobatic "Extra 300"
Robert
Model V/Extra 300 tailwheel
.......I eventually substituted just the wheel itself for a Homebuilders 6"
special from Aircraft Spruce. This is a soft rubber wheel. I've never been
so happy in all my life. The thing runs very much quieter and I can taxi as
straight as a die. Take-offs and landings are vastly easier. I put this down
to the fact the new wheel is soft rubber and is not bouncing as much also
not being flat I think it is getting some directional control rather than
sliding across the ground surface.

Roseburg must be a bad place. A friend told me last night about an I-com

traced to Roseburg where the address was changed by someone to Ikon. Ant
any rate UPS is buying him a new radio. 8-)

I thought the proper procedure was to take the oil cap off and rotate prop
by hand until it "burps". The check oil level.
For mine, in cool weather, 7 blades (with three blade prop) is enough. In
real cold weather, it takes as many as 25 blades. I do only have one year
of experience. With cold weather coming, I may find something else.

I check the oil level immeadiately after shutdown. I have not had to add any

At a recent flying school, I had to check the oil before each of my
flights, and invariably it would require turning 5 blades (per
POH...Evektor Sportstar w/912s) and then the oil would show properly.

p.s. glad to be back to my Jabiru engine....pull stick, look, put stick

I don't have time to make a list of all that will be available, but you
might want to start thinking about what you might need or want. For items
not sold to folks on the list I will most likely sell them locally or on
E-Bay. I guess the biggest items would be the engine and avionics package. I
would prefer to sell both intact, complete engine with redrive and complete
panel. It is an NSI start but has many many upgrades and less that 75 hours
on complete rebuild. The only damage to the engine is a bent custom
aluminum oil pan, cosmetic, from when the nose wheel collapsed. Two of the
thee blades are broken and the spinner toast from the engine off nose in. I
think I have pictures on sport flight of most of the engine. If you are
seriously interested give me a separate off list E-Mail and I will send my
phone number.
I know everyone is going to ask so to make it short and simple. Forced off
field landing resulted in a collapsed nose gear and a flip over. Will have
to decide what is worth selling and what to cut up. So enough for now. Yep I
walked away. Actually, I dropped, crawled and then walked away. The plane is
at CNO , Chino California.
