      Brett,

I made a set from fiberglass, but used duct tape to achieve the flow contour
I was after. I think a thin layer of clay over the tape or all clay would
have worked better. I used the blind rivnuts for the screw attachments and I
did cover the pin and the upper part of the door hinge. If you want it water
tight might I suggest a thin layer of compressible foam either attached to
the underside of the covers or on the windshield and wing. Make your mold as
smooth as possible as this will save you a lot of work. If I had to do it
again I would try to make them as thin and light as possible, maybe out of
carbon fiber, one layer. Oh, used tinnerman washers and machine screws. Hope
that helps a little. They were a pain in the rear.

      Rick

      Hey Kitfox Pilots,
We need 11 more members to get to 100 on the Kitfox Frappr Map.

      http://www.frappr.com/kitfox

If you haven't yet done so, please locate yourself and post a picture of your steed.
I know of 3 more in PA who are not on the map and I'm sure some of you know
people, too. Please pass the word and the link (the link is not searchable
on the Frappr site). The Lancair guys have 180. We should be able to beat that
because we don't lose 3-10 planes & pilots each year. :>)
Also, you are not limited to one picture. Please feel free to post other pictures
of your plane that you are proud of.

      Hi Listers,

The List of Contributors (LOC) is just around the corner! On
December 1st I post a list of everyone that so generously made a
Contribution to support the Lists. Its sort of my way of publicly
thanking everyone that took a minute to show their appreciation for the Lists.

Won't you take a moment and assure that your name is on that List of
Contributors? As a number of people have pointed out, the List seems
at least, if not a whole lot more, as valuable as a
building/flying/recreating tool as a typical your magazine
subscription. We won't even talk about a newsstand price... :-)

Won't you take minute and assure that your name is on the upcoming
LOC? Tell others that you appreciate the Lists. Making a
Contribution to support the Lists is fast and easy using your Visa or
M/C on the SSL Secure Web Site:

I would like to thank everyone that has so generously made a
Contribution thus far in this year's List Fund Raiser! Remember that
its YOUR support that keeps these Lists going and improving! Don't
forget to include a little comment about how the Lists have helped
you! I love to feel the love... :-)

That mapping system is great, but here is something even more amazing. It is
a zoomable satellite imaging system that lets you find just about anything
on earth. The major population centers are so well photographed that I could
see my car in my driveway.

I didn't realize that your plane was not stock. The guy asking about
his model 2's weights may not have realized that your answer didn't
      apply to his plane either.

There were no lawyers involved after my accident--they just paid the
claim after verifying that all the paperwork was in order. Good
thing too, since my passenger's medical bills came to $125,000. If
you don't carry liability insurance that covers in-flight situations
I hope you are either independently wealthy and can afford to pay for
such things OR you never carry passengers and never crash into people
      or property on the ground.

Liability coverage is typically quite a bit less expensive than hull
coverage. It might be worth another look.

No, I guess it was my misunderstanding. I thought what you had for sale was
the plastic streamline strut material, about 6' per length, that can be
attached to the strut tubes for streamlining and drag reduction.

I would not have any need for the strut to wing fairings--Thanks for getting
      back to me on it.

Hi everyone, Because of the problems with fuel flow
from the wing tanks to the header tank under some
conditions, I was thinking an electric aux fuel pump
might help. Any thoughts on this would be a help as I
will soon be ready to cover and would like to make any
      changes before then, Thanks Don.

PS. I have 2 fiberglass 13 gal wing tanks in the kit I
am building (Manufactured Mid 1992) and I don't have a
lot of faith in them, anything I can or should do ???
      Thanks again.

If I were at that point I would have some nice aluminum tanks built, mount
so there is allowance for wing flex. Or have them made from a poly product.
      Just what I would do.

Ben, I think I have messed up things on Frappr. I have a photo, I have
a membership with my homeplace on the map. But the photo doesn't have
the "map it" text under. Something went wrong. Could you fix it or tell
me how to, by private email. TIA.

Meanwhile, I'll try to get the Scandinavian Kitfoxers to list
      themselves in Frappr.

      Hey Kitfox Pilots,
We need 11 more members to get to 100 on the Kitfox Frappr Map.

      http://www.frappr.com/kitfox

If you haven't yet done so, please locate yourself and post a picture of
your steed. I know of 3 more in PA who are not on the map and I'm sure some
of you know people, too. Please pass the word and the link (the link is not
searchable on the Frappr site). The Lancair guys have 180. We should be able
to beat that because we don't lose 3-10 planes & pilots each year. :>)
Also, you are not limited to one picture. Please feel free to post other
pictures of your plane that you are proud of.

      Don,
Glenn Horne here. I have two 13 gal. tanks in my model II.
That were 1990 tanks. Built the aircraft but didn't do anything to
the tanks. After all finish one (the left) leaked. I slosh the tank(after
      cleaning it good)
with some tank sloshing compound from a company called Caswell Inc.
It did the job. If yours are not installed now is the time to slosh them.
The company web sit is www.caswellplating.com.
On the first page click on the tab that says (repair products) There you
      will see epoxy gas
      tank sealer.
      Hope this helps.
      Glenn Horne Model II 582

Blue Sky Aviation sells a seat sling kit for 35 bucks or you can make one
yourself like I did from nylon straps bought at a surplus store. I pop
riveted them in place stretching from the lower tube that the seat lip sits
on to the upper tube that the seat lip sits on. It's a good idea to have
these regardless of a crack. There was talk of a guy losing control of the
aircraft after a hard landing where the seat broke and the weight of the
pilot and passenger was on the controls preventing them from moving.

Well, depends on who you talk to. Some say a waste of time not needed.
Others wont fly without it. I don't think it ever was a requirement. Mine
was not and no problem after 600 hours. I would recommend you make sure the
fabric is well attach to the wing tanks though. Second though I would make a
thin aluminum or composite removable closure over the wing tank area. Just
what I would do if I were at you junction.

Hi Guys, Im considering having a trailer make for my fox and have referenced the
plans and photos on sports flight however no one mentions the type of suspension
they are using. This must be a fairly critical issue to consider due to loadings
that the aircraft would experience on rough surfaces. I felt that a single
axle with one leaf spring would be softer riding but I see some people are
using dual axles. Can I have some comments from those that have experience with
this issue. Thanks Guys. PS Think the frappr idea is great. Nice to know where
you all are and what your aircraft look like even if it is mostly 12000 miles
      away.

      Cheers.
