There's a theory that some matter can not exist below the speed of light
and a conversion to that type of matter would allow one to move at that

Kurt,
You'll love the oil thermostate, the engine warms up real fast and maintains between
180 and 200, then again I have a big cooler for the oil. you will like
it on how fast it warms the engine on start up, I generally can be ready to go
with 100+ oil temp with outside temp at 35degree f. in about 5 minutes. I also
have a battery tenter and I like that as well.

Photons have zero rest energy therefore it only takes Planck's
constant times the photon frequency to get it going at the speed of
light.
We all move thru spacetime at the speed of light.

You're right, there is a loophole. The particle that your D cell
instrument launches has zero mass, so it all works out. The
impossibility that was referenced by the great man was when the particle
has non zero mass, or to state it more simply if it has mass, then the
energy required to move it at the speed of light becomes infinite.
Photon has mass zero. Photon, therefore exists in all time and in no
time. So the statement "I am the light of the world" is truly profound.

Went to the hangar again yesterday with overnight charge on battery. Engine turned
ok, but maybe a little slow. Would not start.
Bought a new battery and BINGO engine starts every time.
I really appreciate all that replied and I learned once again that you gotta
have a good battery in the Rotax.

When starting my engine I always had trouble with the carb on the right side falling
off. Since I've gone to this way of starting, I haven't had no trouble with
the carb and it starts with no troubles. I agree with the engine heat, but
I can start mine down to 25 degrees f. Without any trouble. what I do is first,
turn the prop over at least once to make sure that it isn't hydrolic locked.
Second, make sure you have a choke hooked up for both carbs. Now this is very
important, keep the mags OFF, and crank the engine to a count of 11 if it's
colder than 35, about a count of 8 if it's warmer than35, and normal starting
in the summer a count of 4(the counts are about 1 second intervals). Also make
sure the throttle is as closed off as possible, grab the control and pull on
it to make sure, lock it in place. Next, wait a few seconds and turn the mags
on, push the throttle in slightly to have an Rpm of 2000 to 2200(questimate) Lock
the throttle down good, and start the eng!
ine, be ready on the choke(that's why you lock down the throttle), if the engine
is a little rough, quickly pull out the choke, as soon as it smooths out release
the choke.
Also very important to have a good battery, mine is an oddesy.
Also make sure the carbs are good and clean and adjusted proper.

Well, there's airplane rides (big deal, eh?), helicopter rides, model
airplane display, classic, custom, street machines, hot rods, trucks &
motorcycles to look at, Car Awards at 2PM, DJ music, food
available....Meijers chain store within 2 miles....help, I'm running
out of ideas!
I'm trying to recall if the Cascades Illuminated Falls are up and
running that early in the calendar...it may not open until July 4...not
sure about that.
You can probably see some of the projects that the EAA chapter members
are working on.

Ok, so I've gone with leaner idle jets (50 from 55) and adjusted the air slides
down as far as they go and I still can't get idle rpms below 2500. I've just
installed a gearbox clutch so I'd like to get idle down to where prop doesn't
engage. Should I go to 45's with the idler jets or is there something else I
haven't tried?

With two strokes if you go lean on idle it tends to increase RPM rather than
decrease - maybe you're going the wrong way? - Bob Robertson should be able

Just thinking, how long is this fly-in going to last. From the
suggestions, it looks like it will be sevaral days long and unfortunately
that will be out of my time budget.
The Cameron Park fly-in is a one day affair and in seven years I have never
even found time to count the airplanes. For me the opportunity to place
faces with names and see some of the airplanes is enough. Maybe I,m just
getting old, but just sitting around and talking is usually excitement
enough for me.
I do hope to be there if everything comes together here.

Could be a simple rigging problem. Is your elevator approximately neutral when
the stick is? If not, I'd start by adjusting the rod ends for elevator push tube.
I had the opposite problem on my first flight, had to keep stick forward
in level flight. Shortened up the rod ends and now it's fixed.

I assume the model 3 uses the Flapperon control for in-flight trim -
probably a stupid question but are you using the flapperon to counter the
stick pressure?
A second point may be the angle of attack of your stabilizer, on the model 4
the stab angle of incidence can be changed by repositioning the leading and
trailing edge mounting points to also change stick loading and aircraft
incidence.

keep the nose up in level flight? If so, lower the
leading edge of the horiz. stab a notch or feed in
some flaperon to see if you can trim out the nosedown
tendency.

Adjusting the elevator push/pull will only change the
position of the stick hands-off. It won't change the
trim...

To clarify, I have to push forward. The natural pressure is for it to push
back and want to climb. I have not tried to correct with the flap control.
May be the answer? I also wants to roll right. We have adjust the wing to
try to correct this. Have not flown it since the adjustment so don't know if
that worked.

I was just looking through my April QST which is the ARRL Ham
publication and came upon a red Kitfox. It was a full page add for
an ARRL publication called "Amateur Radio on the Move." It is a "how
to" manual for using Ham radios in mobile installations. The front
cover features what I take to be a Model 4 red Kitfox with tail
number N91KF. The identification "Kitfox" is prominent on the side
of the aircraft. Looking good!

area. Saw a yellow one on the flight line. Blue one in the UL area and the

I've got a 3:1 582 with a 3 blade Warp. (Not sure of diameter.)
Would anyone have the initial tip angle for 6200 RPM static? (I'm guessing
it should be around 12 degrees.)

Ok, it's forward pressure :
)
The flaperons probably aren't gonna correct that. They pitch the nose down.
You'll need to move your horiz stab up a notch or so. The roll may be
corrected with the wing wash-out.

To clarify, I have to push forward. The natural pressure is for it to push
back and want to climb. I have not tried to correct with the flap control.
May be the answer? I also wants to roll right. We have adjust the wing to
try to correct this. Have not flown it since the adjustment so don't know if
that worked.

keep the nose up in level flight? If so, lower the
leading edge of the horiz. stab a notch or feed in
some flaperon to see if you can trim out the nosedown
tendency.

Frank..sorry i dont check all these messages anymore since i sold 91JE to
you but i should respond to your notes about the plane. I cant be sure that
something didn't come out of rig that long on the trailer but i'm assuming
the airplane still flies as given. If so...don't change a thing.
Adjusting the flap lever ..pulling it up will lower your pitch. You will
find that it also will increase lift...and therefore isn't the best trim
system anyones ever come up with. However, You shouldn't be feeling any
"extreme" pressures on the stick. Flying with your fingertips and a little
forward pressure though might be needed at higher end cruise speeds. At
approach speed you'll have to hold the nose up with backpressure...standard
for a fox3 as in the flying manual.
about the roll...remember that the earlier kitfoxes are closer to neutral
stability and need more rudder coordination than certifieds. That took me a
little to get comfortable with...especially with a round cowling. You'll see
that things will stay level with the rudder coordinated. If you get
together with some other foxers you'll see a lot of folks flying wing low.
Check out the ball, airspeed, pitch and flap lever first. Its not going to
feel like a 182 but you shouldn't be using more than light pressures to
correct. If not then best to have a look and see if something is bent.

Well said, my KF 2 ( almost the same as a 3) felt a bit that way too, I
added a small trim tab to each elevator so I can fly hands off.....
