I have found the original tires for about $20 and I am wondering if maybe the knobs were removed by a recapping shop. I have had good luck w/ the tires ,but I have 400+ hours and 10 yrs on them and they are beginning to weather check a bit so I will need to replace them before long. BTW, I am doing an annual and checked the valve stems and was able to break them off by pushing against them w/ my thumb. You might want to check them. Are the Carlisle tires fairly light? Do they fit the old rims? May end up doing that. From: "Colin Durey" --> Kitfox-List message posted by: "Colin Durey" Rupert, To my knowledge they are OK for gasoline. There are two types, one made from Polysulphone, and the other from Polyetethersulphone. One is better than the other, but again, both are, I believe, OK. To satisfy yourself, you could call GEMs and ask them directly. I use these sensors (smaller ones) in medical equipment that I work with, so am not dealing with fuels, however, the sensor in my KF IV kit ('94 vintage) is a GEMs unit made from Polysulphone ( I don't know the original part #) Regards Colin Durey Pacific Technology Corporation Ltd +61-418-677073 (M) +61-2-945466162 (F) > --> Kitfox-List message posted by: "Rupert Tinker" > > Colin: > Thanks, found the part right away. Rupert, I see Colin has already advised that you can get = the sensor and see all the info on it at www.gemssensors.com As you will see there is some choices but I mentioned that mine was = P/N205300. It is one of the ELS-900 series and made of Polyethersulfone = as this resists fuel. The website will explain how it works. Basically = it works on the principal of a LED emiting a light beam into a prism = that then reflects it back into a photo transistor. However if the prism = is immersed in a liquid [ Fuel ] the light is dispersed and the = transistor does not get activated. The circuit to use this is very = simple but if you are not conversant with electronics it is probably = best to get some help or at least take great care to get it wired up = right before any power is applied as it can easilly be blown instantly = and it cost me $57 US all up. The sensor can be bought in about three electrical variations and 3 = different threads. There is also the different materials it is made = from. The sensor will easilly feed a flashing LED. As I think I = mentioned I have made up a beeper that feeds into my intercomm also. = = = Rex Shaw. ________________________________ Message 10 ____________________________________ Time: 07:41:45 PM PST US Subject: Kitfox-List: Re: Looking for list member - AWO Arlington, WA area From: "Richard Rabbers" --> Kitfox-List message posted by: "Richard Rabbers" Hello again, The seller of my future Full Lotus floats has returned to Arlington.
