CH Products stick and ProPedals, Allan. The X-Plane model is not easier
to land than the real plane, rather the opposite as your peripheral
view is not the same. Imagine landing a real taildragger with ... a
keyboard! :-)

That is because they have re-organised their archive and I follow the
new standard, which is to go to the menu: Files/Download
Manager/Search. But since it only links to my server here are the
direct addresses:
http://home.online.no/~michel/micro/KitfoxMk3.zip
That is for X-Plane version 7. Note also that, that version is with the
582 and round cowling, that I had when version 7 was the last one.
http://home.online.no/~michel/micro/Kitfox.zip
That is for version 8.2 and upward. It is a true copy of my Kitfox as
it is now, with the Jabiru engine and a photographic reproduction of my
cockpit/panel in a 3D model.
Of course, you are welcome to use elements of those to model your own
Kitfox. Please, let me know when you are finished, I'd like to have a
look at it too.
Cheers,
Michel

Yes, mine seemed stiff too but to fly it's ok, don'y notice it being so.

I just connected up my elevator and the stick forces are quite alarming
(heavy)! It is smooth but takes quite a bit of arm muscle to move it. Is
this normal? My control column is smooth and does not bind on the bearing
or the delrin brace so it must simply be the weight of the elevator. I am
used to the model III that was fairly light on the control. What is the
stick pull like while flying? Anyone with a flying Series 7...does the
amount of force required to pull back stick change significantly from static
(on the ground) to flying? I wonder why Skystar never designed
counterbalances for this airplane...Maybe because the stick forces are just
right in the flight regime...I don't know, this is why I am asking. Any
comments or thoughts are appreciated.

My C of G is on the forward limit with just me flying and with gap seals
it'll stall land ok, however I tend to do tail low wheelers. The trim is set
almost right aft in this config for landing. John A Series 5

I am not a test pilot and I strive to keep my CG exactly where it should be.
But, in the flight simulator I use, I experiment a bit and my experience is
that, if the CG is rather aft, the stall characteristics change in the way
that the plane stalls from one wing or the other and it's difficult to "mush
down" as I do with the real plane. An aft CG also makes the virtual Kitfox
more prone to ground loop.
I don't know if this is true for real-life and I don't want to base my
knowledge on a computer model but ... does this make sense to you guys?
Cheers,
Michel

My model 7 is the same way. The weight of the elevator is what you are
having to over come but in the air that goes away. The elevator will start
to 'come alive' as soon as the power comes up, and then be ready to fly.

Is it normal for the rear cylinder to run hotter than the front? By how
much? My slides are as level as possible at various throttle positions,
yet the rear egt is about 10F-60F warmer, depending on the rpm and if I
blink.(so it seems) This is measured with a digital gauge. At one
moment it will be with 5F, then with now reason for change it separates
to about 50F. Each flight is different. Am I chasseing my tail, or is
it an early symptom of a problem? 582 with 130hrs/4yrs - but many short
frequent flights.
Thanks guys,
Larry

I don't know if it's normal or not Larry but I've experienced the same thing with
my 582 gray head. It has 33.2 hrs now and aft cylinder has always run a bit
hotter than fwd.
