What type of radiator did you get ? I would love to get my temps down a little especially during the summer in NC. My temps are high with two people in climbout. Travis

--> Kitfox-List message posted by: Torgeir Mortensen <torgemor@online.no> Hi Folks, Here's a few valuable reminders I've found for our cooling system. See below. (Remember the back of a PA system, with large dull black (black anodized alimunium) cooling fins for cooling the output stage.. ) Torgeir ----------- Radiators are painted black for a reason. Black is the best colour for heat dissipation. As radiators age they corrode and the paint flakes off. ACT QUICKLY! First, use a soft brush to clean the fins. A spray can of black paint is relatively cheap and can save you big dollars. Not only will spraying the radiator as soon as it shows signs of corrosion improve cooling, it will also prolong the life of the component. Remember though, if the paint is too thick it will slow down heat transfer and make the radiator less efficient. ------------ Go here and read more: http://www.ttmtechnical.com/cooling.html -- Using M2, Opera's revolutionary e-mail client: http://www.opera.com/m2/

Dear Listers, I am looking at Kitfox Classic IV 1200 project with VW engine. What think you about using VW engine for this plane? I have no experience and scant knowledge of this power plant. Many thanks, Ken

I lot of people like the VW engine. I personally thought that there was not enough power without extensive mods. I chose the suberu con. I have not heard of any problems and can recoment some people to talk to in tha kansas city area.
