Yes, I had the symmetrical flaperons.

Not necessarily. Cessna prohibits slips with flaps extended in the
Cessna 172 because the flaps interfere with airflow over the tail
surfaces making pitch control difficult. There is no such
prohibition in my Piper Arrow. I can put the flaps down and slip to
my heart's content. I can't remember if I tried to slip the Kitfox
with flaps extended.
Given the common use of flaperons for pitch trim in the pre-Model IV
'foxes, their application as traditional flaps may be less useful.
And, of course, the Model IV and later use a different flaperon mixer
that provides differential movement (aileron down travel is less than
up travel).

Hi Michel.
You tell us about the female passenger.. I am wondering and I am sure many
more of us are.
What happened to the other large breast' did she leave it outside when she
closed the door?
Hay mate, I am only kidding. But it did make me smile.
Thanks for allowing me to use my imagination.

I don't know, Eric, but a while ago, I was flying with for the first time with
a good friend (male) when he asked:
- "Why do you keep your right hand on the throttle?" as we were flying level.
I then moved my hand a few inches to the right, on his knee, and said softly:
- "Would this be better, darling?"
... the plane then entered a violent shake. No, it wasn't turbulence, it was us,
laughing out loud!

Good morning all.
My apologies Malcolm. I thought it was you who asked the question about
Michigan Kitfoxes. Has anybody been keeping a record of those who
expressed wanting to be on the list of Michigan Kitfoxers? I don't know
who will run with it, but we need to at least know who wants to be part
of it.
Thanks,

As far as I know The original builder told me that the "A" was basically an
up graded model II. I think Steve Winder of Airdale told me it was a model
III with a narrower fuselage. My plane doesn't have the panel tank. It has
drooped wing tips, wing tanks and the 582. The 912 was an option. I have
installed a nitrogen lift strut on the pilot side. The original builder
installed a small baggage compartment behind the seats which is accessible
from the outside. I have heard that some avid owners have a problem with
folding their wings. Apparently they have to disconnect the aileron push
rods...or install bent ones. I have no such problems.
The 'Fox is a he#$ of a lot more fun to fly than the spam can C172M I
trained on... And that's on floats! One of these years I might actually get
to try the skis or wheels.

RAY, I was there, spoke to John a couple of times and again at the Acee
Ducee Tavern. There were about 25 people there. John had the one airplane
there and I took a picture of the EuroFox. Amazing how much alike they are
and how much improved over my bare bones model IV. The interesting thing
about the EuroFox is the price, $50500.

Ok, Mike. I will try to increase the maximum angle of my flaps to say,
15 degrees and I'll let you know. BTW, this evening, I flew with an
American from Austin, Texas. He has been flying since 1965 and owns now
a Citabria. It was a short flight because we were surrounded by Cb and
between thunder storms. But it was great and, needless to say, he flew
the Kitfox like a pro.
Cheers,

I have a set of Soft Comm 90's...ANR. They tend to do a good job and are easy
on the ears for any extended flights. I have been flying behind a 912s that pulls
an Allegro 2000 through the air while I'm building my IV. I don't notice any
high pitched noises untill I'm in the pattern and reduce the power at the numbers.
It's not irritating or loud, I can just tell it is happening...sounds
like background noise.

us, laughing out >loud!
Thanks Michel. I will remember this for a long time.
The strange thing is; from my training days, my instructor emphasized that I
keep my fingers on the throttle.
This is something I still do today, It is amazing how you adopt these habits
when in the early infant training part of the program.
Next time I have a passenger sitting next to me cruising along and I look
down and see my hand on the throttle, I will probably chuckle. If not then I will
certainly have a big smile on my face.:)
And Jose.
If my passenger is female. I should have to reach over and check to see if
the passenger door is secure before flight. (wink'wink')
All the breast, sorry!! I mean best guys. Eric. Classic IV Atlanta

How about setting up a user group web site for Michigan tail dragger pilots
then we promote its awarenessseveral ways. I belong to several user
groups that only get 1 or 2 messages a month. I realy dont want to be on a list.

Hello Lance,
I have now a fixed pitch two blades prop but when I had the wood GSC
prop, I adjusted the tracking by using small pieces of paper between
the wood prop and the aluminium hub. I used the type of paper used for
baking in the oven, a thin but hard type. I guess the idea is to use
something that has the same consistence as wood, but in thin layers.
Cheers,
Michel
