Hi Gary-
Can you explain a little about how the F2100 Fuel Flow Indicator works?
By that I mean, what senses the flow, an impeller? Where do you insert
the sensing device?
I'm a little concerned about the specs on this unit....only good down
to 32 F? And one other spec...90-300 hp? That puts our 85-horse Jabs a
little below their range...have you found this to be a problem?

For those who have trouble reading the fine text in some messages, here
is a simple trick that works great....
Left click your mouse pointer somewhere in the text to "make it active",
hold down the "control" key on your keyboard and scroll with the little
wheel on top of your mouse if you have one. The text size "magically"
changes size!

Well, I got the 3M DP-8005 (correct number) Polyethylene adhesion test
completed.
Took a 1 gallon milk bottle and a 1"x 1/16" pice of aluminum, cleaned
them with MEK, didn't bother to rough them up and squeezed out a pea
size amount of adhesive. Using top notch research methods, I taped a
couple of wooden pencils together, with a AAA battery between the
pencils in paralell., so I could push the glue plungers equally. One
syringe plunger is very small and one is much larger, giving the proper
10:1 glue ratio.
I stuck the aluminum bar onto the gallon milk jug, with the pea sized
gob of glue and let it squish out the sides of the mating. You have to
do all of the "stickin' together" in 3 minutes or less. I let'r sit all
night and the next morning tried to get the 2 pieces apart.
There was no way...........I finally pulled to the point of tearing
the side clear out of the milk jug, ruining a perfectly good galon milk
jug and bending a perfectly good piece of aluminum.
I should caution anyone wanting to duplicate this, very profesional,
exhaustive test, to first empty the milk jug of milk.
Needless to say, I'm convinced the the adhesive will, without
question, hold a piece of aluminum to the side of a polyethylene milk
jug, no matter how hard one pulls on the piece of aluminum.
I finally got "some" of the adhesive off of the aluminum, with a
hammer and chisel, further damaging my 6"X1"X1/16" piece of aluminum,
that I had been saving for several years, ............for something or
other.
Oh Well........
Anyway, 3M did a bang up job designing this DP-8005 (correct number)
adhesive and I'm going to take heart in hand, drill an inch and
something or other, hole in the top of my Fox header tank and glue on
the aluminum flange, so the low level fuel sensor can be installed.
I did check with 3M regarding the compatiblity of gasoline and DP-8005
(correct number) and they told me the was no problem. However, once
there was ethanol added to the gas, there would be a major explosion!
(Just kidding)

Stan, was not successful as described on the recieved messge. The steps you suggested
changed the wrap properties which will be helpful for some of the messages
I recieve. Is there another set of commands that will alter the font size?
An interesting thing though, your suggestion does function as you describe
on the reply message.

Lynn,
I have one too and have operated as low as - 25C ( -15F) with NO
troubles.
It works by impeller and I think that temp range is most likely for the LED
display.
It say min flow rate 5 litres per hour and mine read below that but you know
alot like to brag how they only burn 4 litres an hour but in reality we all
know that a range of 5 t o 130 litres perhour will cover most all Kitfoxes.

I am not sure why it is not working for you. I use Outlook Express for
my e-mail, and perhaps you use other another? I am not sure how this
works with other packages. Sorry, but I don't have an answer or

BTW could you tell me how to remove a plug of cured Gorilla Glue that
self sealed a squeeze bottle that was left without the tip cap in place?
There's plenty of good glue left below the plug and I'd hate to throw it
away.
Another good product I've used is Pro Bond polyurethane glue.

The flow is sensed by a small turbine that has an inlet and outlet
nipple.
You just put this into the fuel supply line after the filter and before
the
fuel pump.
A signal cable then runs back to the gauge which just requires a 12V
supply
and ground hook up.
As the fuel flows the turbine spins and the flow is monitored and
displayed
on the LED display.
I had over 300 Hrs or 4,500 ltrs through my last gauge without any
problem
and consistently better than 98% accuracy. As soon as I purchased my new
Kitfox I fitted a Navman and I have about 450 Ltrs through this one. I
drained the fuel last weekend and checked the volume against the gauge
and
it was within 1/2 Ltr.
You have to make sure that you remember to update the gauge everytime
you
add or remove fuel as it doesn't read anything from the fuel tanks. I
also
fitted the Murle Williams low fuel warning light just to have a direct
contact with the actual fuel supply. I located both in a small consol
that I
built for fuel management. See attached Foto.
You can see the low fuel light in the bottom right corner of the lexan
cover

Can you explain a little about how the F2100 Fuel Flow Indicator works?
By that I mean, what senses the flow, an impeller? Where do you insert
the sensing device?
I'm a little concerned about the specs on this unit....only good down
to 32 F? And one other spec...90-300 hp? That puts our 85-horse Jabs a
little below their range...have you found this to be a problem?

I think the reason the mouse trick doesn't work for everyone is it may
be a function of the mouse software for your brand of mouse or version.
Look at your Menu bar for the "View" menu and and there's usually a
increase or decease text size choice. Try pressing and holding the
"Ctrl" key and tapping the "+" key to increase text. The same trick
works to decrease text if you use the "-" (minus) key. (Don't worry
about the fact that the "+" normally requires the "Shift" key, it
doesn't in this case.) These key commands should work in many other
programs. Note that this only works when reading a message, not when you
are composing or writing. That's when you would use Font tools.

hit the + key, each time you do the text gets larger, or smaller with the- key.

For those who have trouble reading the fine text in some messages, here is
a simple trick that works great....
Left click your mouse pointer somewhere in the text to "make it active", hold
down the "control" key on your keyboard and scroll with the little wheel on
top of your mouse if you have one. The text size "magically" changes size!

Subject: Kitfox-List: Polyethylene adhesive test
Well, I got the 3M DP-8005 (correct number) Polyethylene adhesion test completed.
Took a 1 gallon milk bottle and a 1"x 1/16" pice of aluminum, cleaned them
with MEK, didn't bother to rough them up and squeezed out a pea size amount of
adhesive. Using top notch research methods, I taped a couple of wooden pencils
together, with a AAA battery between the pencils in paralell., so I could
push the glue plungers equally. One syringe plunger is very small and one is
much larger, giving the proper 10:1 glue ratio.
I stuck the aluminum bar onto the gallon milk jug, with the pea sized gob of
glue and let it squish out the sides of the mating. You have to do all of
the "stickin' together" in 3 minutes or less. I let'r sit all night and the next
morning tried to get the 2 pieces apart.
There was no way...........I finally pulled to the point of tearing the side
clear out of the milk jug, ruining a perfectly good galon milk jug and bending
a perfectly good piece of aluminum.
I should caution anyone wanting to duplicate this, very profesional, exhaustive
test, to first empty the milk jug of milk.
Needless to say, I'm convinced the the adhesive will, without question, hold
a piece of aluminum to the side of a polyethylene milk jug, no matter how hard
one pulls on the piece of aluminum.
I finally got "some" of the adhesive off of the aluminum, with a hammer and
chisel, further damaging my 6"X1"X1/16" piece of aluminum, that I had been saving
for several years, ............for something or other.
Oh Well........
Anyway, 3M did a bang up job designing this DP-8005 (correct number) adhesive
and I'm going to take heart in hand, drill an inch and something or other,
hole in the top of my Fox header tank and glue on the aluminum flange, so the
low level fuel sensor can be installed.
I did check with 3M regarding the compatiblity of gasoline and DP-8005 (correct
number) and they told me the was no problem. However, once there was ethanol
added to the gas, there would be a major explosion! (Just kidding)

What it really is ....Nitromethane and acetone ... mostly. But, the prescribed
solution is time. Hard to do.... but BEFORE you play with CA do not wash
your hands, our bodies produce oils that really interferes with the bond. Even
better, a bit of lotion and the Ca should be really easy to remove......
CA glue was originally developed for bonding skin, so it does that very well!
Skin regenerates rapidly, be patient. If you rush and panic, you can cause injury...
The CA world offers many different types. The stuff I really like is the "flex"
because it does not become brittle and can shatter...
Best not to use accelerator, the bond is not quite as strong....

I think the reason the mouse trick doesn't work for everyone is it may
be a function of the mouse software for your brand of mouse or version.
Look at your Menu bar for the "View" menu and and there's usually a
increase or decease text size choice. Try pressing and holding the
"Ctrl" key and tapping the "+" key to increase text. The same trick
works to decrease text if you use the "-" (minus) key. (Don't worry
about the fact that the "+" normally requires the "Shift" key, it
doesn't in this case.) These key commands should work in many other
programs. Note that this only works when reading a message, not when you
are composing or writing. That's when you would use Font tools.
