One suggestion is to use more than 1915cc like I did. Valley Engineering LLC makes a redrive. A local Kit Fox builder put a C-65 in his 'Fox' and he was very pleased with the overall operation. The sheet metal work he designed was both functional and simple. It performed better than his two-stroke and used much less fuel. All, Last April, I purchased a Kitfox Model IV Speedster - 912UL, It had ~ 200 hours. Unfortunately the original builder, Mr. Joseph Bender, had passed away some time ago. Then the plane sat in a shed virtually untouched for 8 years. I towed it home and over the past 8-9 months I have replaced a lot, and refinished a lot... Well you guys all know what I mean. I had the condition Inspection last Saturday, by the same man who was the DAR that signed it off back in December 1994. I also found the pilot who flew it for it's first test flight back then. Today he flew N926JB for the first time in over 9 years. After his test flight he took me up for about 30 minutes. Of course I was thrilled. Although I'm a commercial pilot, the insurance company wants me to have 5 hours of instruction in type, so I will be starting that ASAP, and have a Kitfox builder on the field who is qualified. I want to thank everyone on this list. I've learned so much, so many little things, that you just can't get from the builders manual. And of course I want to thank Mr. Joe Bender for building a great airplane. Todd Leiss Merritt Island, Fl

Kevin, I posted a short clip of some flying today .......... http://www.cfisher.com/kitfox/ Top link on left here http://www.cfisher.com Takes you too a few shots of the install. I done ATV wheels before and I know they tough. I made some tools and now a tires can be un- mounted ands re-mounted in a few minutes. Got lots more movies -- gotta cut out most of the stuff and leave the mild stuff for you guys or you would be sending in the guys in white jackets for me today. LOL btw had to continually de-ice the flappersons today -- keep freezing up in these conditions. Snow forecast next day or two ............ Type one case, 94 mm pistons, ~8:1 compression, 87 octane 3000-3500 rpm. I used a Diel accesory case which has the mag drive, alternator and starter as well as lycoming mounting bushings. Great Plains Aircraft sells all the stuff for the motor, but you can buy a new stroker crank and stroker pistons on Fleabay for much less. Oil temp in summer around 190 today never came off the peg. Cylinder head temps were through the roof reading under the spark plug. Moved sender under head bolt and now 375 tops. Got that tip from GP Aircraft. Got one hour flying in today.
