This happened to a friend of mine selling an airplane.
Guy in another country sent my friend a cashiers check for $100,000 for
his
airplane unseen....50 grand more than the asking price. Only catch was,
my
friend was supposed to send this guy the change, $40,000, keep $10,000
for
the trouble. The $40,000 was to be wired to a specific account
overseas.
My friend almost did it, but his bank discovered that the cashiers check
was
no good.
Word to the wise....a cashiers check is not even safe anymore.

I also have been talking to this David guy from ingland on the net. I
am
selling a piper 22 20 and david was asking questions about it. I have
met
a couple of people from inland that come to the US to buy aircraft.
however
I don't think this David is up to snuff. too bad to brokering airplanes
is
a lot of fun. today I talked to a man from Oklahoma he was almost as
easy to
talk to as don is. mal

Subject: | padded covers for kit fox |
i sold my kitfox 5 speedster and still have a complete set of padded covers to
pad the prop, struts, vertical and horizontal tail and wing tips for trailering.
There are plenty of straps and velcro closures with nice cordura outside and
soft padding inside. I do not know if they will fit any other aircraft other
than than the model 5 speedster which they were custom built for. $200.
Also have a PSRU which I purchased from Maxwell for the NSI EA81 engine. I bought
it last month for $1000.00 for a spare. $400.
CAP 140 prop pitch controller and the motor that goes in the prop hub to change
the pitch. $60.
Various other small parts.

Slightly off topic but good to know if you are selling an aircraft
I sent the reply and correspondence from Dave Stan (England)
davstan5000@yahoo.com concerning the possible scam in purchasing
aircraft. Barnstormers replied with a "Thank you" and promised to block
all emails from this person in reference to responding to ad's on their
website.

Hi James,
This is indeed a good example of "experimental spirit", a real keeper.
I know lot's of people need to read about this way of adjustment!
Just another good one.

Subject: | Re: Is it practical to fold wings each flight? |
I would say it all depends on your flight circumstances.
In my personal case I tow my plane home after every flight so folding the
wings is a necessity. If I were flying out of an airport with good tie
downs or even better hangar space then folding would be a total waste of
time.

Opps....I posted
"Past (excellent) topic subject, yes."
I meant, "yes, it was excellent."
Not "yes it is practical."
My opinion is the same as Noels
Noel, you know I could would never give a one word opinion. :-)

Thankyou for the flowers Torgier.=0A=0ABut to top off all that sweat, I wen
t for a test flight yesterday, intending to fly about 140 miles for the $10

t made me back off the throttle and ease it back to the airport. Happily a
ccepted a short and straight in approach to the nearest runway even though
it was downwind. The question last night was how to part out the airplane.
=0A=0AThis morning a check of the engine revealed the problem. A spark pl
