I was looking through the wind charts on aviationweather.org Saturday night in preparation for a short cross country Sunday morning and I noticed the crazy high winds in the north west. I wondered what it would be like flying in that. Now I know :-). -------- Luis Rodriguez Model IV 1200 Rotax 912UL Flying Weekly Laurens, SC (34A) Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=125317#125317 ________________________________ Message 2 _____________________________________ Time: 07:05:57 AM PST US Subject: Kitfox-List: Re: oshkosh From: "Jeffrey Dill" <1dillfamily@comcast.net> Most interested parties have left already. I have plans to attend Oshkosh on Thursday afternoon and evening. I have one phone number from the list to attempt to get in on dinner if there is one. I would bee-line for the booth, but need coordinates. What I do is put a funnel behind the radiator and put a hose to that and run it into the cabin, instant heat and free. can't wait for the winter flying, very fun, slip and slide on the taxiways, that is if you hit the brakes, real fun, and those touch and goes with ice and snow on the runway, way fun. Oh and don't forget the performance, way cool. -------- kitfoxmike model IV, 1200 speedster 912ul building RV7a slowbuild wings, fuse, finish kit "if you're not getting razzed from pilots or the FAA then you're not flying enough" Do not archive Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=125366#125366 Attachments: http://forums.matronics.com//files/winter2_246.jpg http://forums.matronics.com//files/winter_140.jpg ________________________________ Message 4 _____________________________________ Time: 11:44:31 AM PST US Subject: Kitfox-List: Re: Heater for KF 582 From: "wingnut" Nice pics kitfoxmike. Subject: Kitfox-List: How many hours on a 582 I'm getting closer to flying my Model IV. I've been looking at alternative engines but I'll fly it first on the existing one. It occurred to me after reading some comments and websites that SOME folks are flying their 582's far beyond the recommended 300 hours before replacing the cranks. That got me to wondering just how far it's practical. MY engine has 150 and I'll make it poke along a while longer. I'm curious to know how far they'll go with just decarb and checking on schedule. I'd like to know how other owners are making out. Please email me privately at occom@ns.sympatico.ca as there's folks here who don't/won't own 2 strokes. It sat tied down at ogd in a microburst. Broken rubber hinges were the test of my patience.2 of the three rod ends used the speedster tail were broken. (Were some broken before the storm?) I never would have found them in a walk around, but felt the rudder move while I was washing the plane. I will now use a flashlight to check them forever. Many thanks, to John as kitfox for taking time out of his busy schedule to look up part numbers and send them for me. I am headed to billings Montana this week, and john was very understanding.
