I was pretty impressed with the cost of a Reserve Lift Indicator made for sale by Kelly Meiste, (815) 684-9922, email: kellymeiste@jcwifi.com . It works via differential pressure using a two-orifice probe that mounts below the wing. The 2" analog gauge is marked in green, yellow, and red segments. I think Kelly was asking $175 for a complete kit. It's not fancy, but it would get the job done.

Keep the longer wings, you will never put them back on if you take them off. You get off the ground quicker and have a higher gross weight. I just use the anchor nut itself...drill for the screw, locate the nut and cleco it on the top of the base material, drill through one hole, cleco, and drill through for the other hole, remove and drill the center hole slightly oversize for the screw. Install anchor nut from below with a screw from above, cleco one side and install rivet, then remove cleco and install the other rivet. If you want, you can wait until riveted to oversize the center hole, making sure not to get down into the threads of the anchor nut. No, Michel, I wasn't apologizing for the plane, just for stealing the words from one of Al Jolson's songs from the 1920's. As an aside, while I was at Oshkosh, a guy came up to me and asked if I had the plane out in Ione, California a few weeks back. He said he was the guy who was working on a wing just inside the workshop at Eagles Nest, a private airport somewhere near Cameron Park. I didn't recognize the name Ione right away, but did when he told me who he was. 10% back, I got no decrease in top speed, the turns are like on rails, and more stable in rough conditions. I wouldn't fly without them, oh and about a 4mph lower on stall. I don't use flaps, so I can't really comment on that, but I did test the stall with flaps and it's 4mph lower as well. I will add that if you keep your speed above 70 you can do anything you want in the pattern, if you like to knife edge it to the runway, do it, if you want to do a 60degree bank, base to final over the approach end of the runway, 20ft off, do it. The fox also likes to do flat wing turns, you know all rudder and opposite aileron. I like doing those 5ft off the runway, cool for spot landings, avoiding birds, things like that. -------- kitfoxmike model IV, 1200 speedster 912ul building RV7a slowbuild wings, fuse, finish kit "if you're not getting razzed from pilots or the FAA then you're not flying enough" Do not archive Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=128634#128634

I've designed & built my first kit about 2 years ago for my plane (Zenith Zodiac 601) that I fly from my own grass strip. I have about 1,200 ft with tall corn on both ends, plus I'm on a hill. So I needed something to get me in and out safely. I really didn't think the instrument would help that much .....but it did! I now land on my strip and only use up about half my runway if I really push it to the limit on my gage. Soon after I started flying with my kit others saw it & heard about it (just like you have) and asked me to fabricate one for them as well. Now It's a part time job, and as I'm getting ready to retire soon it looks like it may turn into a full time job. Anyway attached you will find a poster I made up with some info on my kit. kaufjm@aol.com asked: I currently have a sporties SP-200 hand held radio with D/C head set. Works ok but I don't have intercom. I was wondering what some of you guys are using. You can get a small portable intercom, plug it into your radio where your headset goes, and plug your headsets into the intercom. It runs off a 9V battery, so you have to be sure to turn it off when not in use. My boy did this in a Champ that has no electrical system and it works great with the Val radio installed in there. Both occupants can hear each other and the radio. Pinpoint customers who are looking for what you sell. http://searchmarketing.yahoo.com/
