I ain't that dumb...I was only trying to get the spinner off, prior to
removing the prop. I had removed centre bolt in spinner and it's stuck
solid so it looks like brute force. The planes been lying for 7 years so
it could be corrosion or silicone...

Thanks guys, yes it's a great feeling after all that time between unpacking that
big box and finally being finished..9 years!
Here in NZ, it is said there are more aircraft per capita than any other country
in the world, mind you there is only 4million people. About 1800klm top to bottom
and plenty of nice mountains and flat plains. Kitfox dream land as heaps
of strips about. Approx 50 klm across the strait between the two islands so plan
to get a bit more time on the engine before I venture, but now that the distance
restriction is off plenty of country here in the north to explore. We have
a mountain near here, 8250ft and from takeoff to the top takes about 10min
(on a nice day). Couple of times on the decent I've switched off and stopped
the prop and it like being in heaven. Nice country airport near by with a long
grass strip in case it doesn't start...but never a problem with a Subaru. Nice
place to visit. John A.

Any one have a set of 8 in. tires with treads. Need them for a Kitfox
Model II.
Where can I get two.
What are some of you guys using in place or the slick tundra? Asphalt

Glenn,
Do a google search on golf cart tires. There are several makers and
sizes available although none I have found for 8" wheels are smooth (no
tread) or have a round profile. You can find golf cart tires with a rib
tread just a bit smaller (18" vs the 20' originals).

You wouldn't believe the number of people who have seen my 582 with the
three blade Ivo prop and thought the little screw held the prop in
place.
Glad to see you aren't one of them... there is a good chance that there
may
be silicone inside the spinner to hold it in place in case the bolt came
out.

Another is a Google on ATV tires. I found a couple of sites that give
almost every brand and tread configuration.

I use 6.50 x 16.00 x 8 made by Carlisle. We are able to get them at
Goodyear Tire stores in Texas.
Last ones I got were $35 each. They are expensive to ship, but if you
need help getting them I will do it for you.

I think my old tires were 16.5 x 6.50 x 8.00 golf cart tires.
Worked gear and will keep them in case i want to go a few mph faster.
I have the King fox tires on now - pics here http://www.cfisher.com/
If you want King Fox tires better get them now as Kevin is near out at MIPPI. One
they gone there will be no more under 50 to 75 Each.
I think he has a ad on Barnstormers for 15$ each.
Do the King fox tires work ? Well if you have not tried some more radial off
field stuff , well your Kitfox is likely begging to try it as they seem to be
a perfect fit for them.
King Fox tires from me . Videos of them here as well http://www.cfisher.com/ look for youtube link
