The two previous owners did little more than stare at the mountain of parts for 15 years! Anyway, everything is in my garage now and things are coming along nicely with most of the engine / firewall / cowling work completed. I wanted to mount the single fan 6" heater core behind the instrument panel but there are no instructions in my paperwork. I'd appreciate it if someone could fax me that info. 416 7415144. MIA I put a post up not long ago saying I had this documentation, but when approached by some list members to forward them along I could not locate them. I am sure they are around somewhere. My apologies if you are one of the ones impacted. KF IV Anphib 912S C-GOOT www.decisionlabs.com/kitfox do not archive

Sorry about the late report. I had a great time at Kitty Hawk. We had three late cancellations (all for really good reasons) so the turn out was kind of light. Duke Maxwell from Dexter, GA showed up in N981MS. It's a beautiful model 5 with an IO240. John King from Warrenton, VA brought his award winning, 912S powered model 5. His airplane gets my vote for most beautiful Kitfox on the planet. I was last to arrive around 3pm in 824KF. We all took turns admiring each other's airplane for a while before checking into the hotels followed by an evening of good food and great storytelling. John capped the night by sharing pictures of his last Kitfox gathering in the Bahamas! Unfortunately, I couldn't make the second gathering at Campbell Field. I started my trip with some moderate back pain from a recent injury that was really smarting by the end of my 450 mile trip to Kitty Hawk so I decided to cut my trip short and head for home Sunday morning. Here's a link to a picture of the three Kitfoxes with the Write Monument in the background. I'll post more pictures soon. http://www.trinityequestriancenter.com/pictures/kittyhawk/kitfoxes.JPG -------- Luis Rodriguez Model IV 1200 Rotax 912UL Flying Weekly Laurens, SC (34A) Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=141130#141130

I might be missing a few more pages from the original cover and finish section of my Mod IV 1050 rebuild. The two panels that cover the triangular area below the stab are held on by a series of tabs. I cannot devine what method is used to secure them. Dave Goddard- Mod IV 1050/582 do not archive

Luis, you ever fly over to triple tree? I have been flying RC there since it opened several years ago. I am now into my kitfox III. We fly into Laurens and drive there during the big RC fly-in. They say that when 2 airplanes fly into Laurens, its an airshow! Dave, the Classic 4 manual instructs to drill the fuselage tabs 7/64 and use 6R X 3/8" Truss Type A screws to attach the covers. The covers should be as close to the stabilizer and as far foreword as possible. back drill through the tabs and cover. It also says you may want to postpone drilling and installing the covers until you make some test flights. You might have to move the front of the Horizon stab down to adjust pitch trim. The tabs on my fuselage were hardened (from the welding I suspect) so I burned up a couple bits drilling them. Then the truss screws didn't work because the tabs were so hard the screws stripped without threading into the tabs. I then drilled the tabs out larger and put some #6 machine screw U nuts on the tabs and used #6 stainless machine screws. -------- Tom Jones Classic IV, Phase one 503 Rotax, 72 inch Two blade Warp Ellensburg, WA Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=141172#141172

Quite a pain. I had the same issue but mine were in the wrong places to attach the metal. Had to make do with added tabs. Yes - Add the metal after flight test in case the horizontal needs to be adjusted. At least make sure the tabs have holes & screws that fit, and are in places that allow the metal to be installed. I've often wondered about visiting Tipple Tree but it's marked as a private airstip on the charts and I understand that they mostly fly R/C aiplanes out there so I've never felt like it would be appropriate. They had a fly-in recently but I was not able to make it that weekend. I know what you mean about Laurens but Hammerhead Aeronautical opened a repair shop in the main hangar recently and it's been bustling ever since. > Luis, you ever fly over to triple tree? I change the position of my horiz. stab twice a year when going from floats to wheels and back again. I use the top hole on wheels ( front of horiz. stab up more) And the bottom hole while on floats. Plane is flyable either way but just a bit more stick pressure, but defiantly not un bearable thanks to the Kitfox's light controls. When testing you will likely find your best cruise 582 ? 5800 to 6000 rpm and set your horiz stab accordingly. If you have trim is not as big of a deal. I don't have trim and really the controls are so light it just extra weight :) Keep em light !! -------- Rotax Dealer, Ontario Canada Flying Videos and Kitfox Info http://www.cfisher.com/ Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=141220#141220

I think I'm going to have to trade my Icom A22 hand held for an A200. W ay too much static at 3000rpm and above. Any ideas what is causing this and how to get rid of it? I really don't have the money for a panel mo unt. Also, what's the cheapest way to get some wing covers for my serie s5? The snow is starting to fly... Yikes!
