Probably for a very short time so long as positive Gs are maintained.
The oil tank has no flop tube. Loops, rolls, etc should be okay, but
sustained inverted flight? Not a good idea in my opinion.

Just wondering~ Can the standard NSI conversion Subaru S5 be flown
inverted? It has the dry sump oil system with the remote oil tank
mounted to the firewall. Thanks, Layne Anch., Ak. S5 NSI Sooby

I like going out to the airport and have the KF ready to fly right out
of the hanger.BUT I all so like the KF to be able to put on a trailer
and taken home at times all so.that is what the kitfox is all about.it
is you choice to do so.my hanger is $95.00 a month and it is a large
hanger probley could park 4 kitfoxs in there.and our runway is all most
5000ft.But I can take my KF home on the trailer at any time.if I
want..if his rent is $450 a month.and I wanted to fly.I too would find a
new place to hanger..or I too would trailer my kitfox home. That is what
is best about the KITFOX..you can not do that with a production
aircraft.. Steve Shinabery N554KF, KF2

Rent at Lincoln,Mo. is $45 a month. Eldorado,Mo is about the same. They are
open T-hangers but Lincoln is one of the nicest grass strips in Mo. Any of
you Kitfoxers want to fly down to Wheatland,Mo. I have a grass strip 1200

Noel, Yes, my trailer is 23" high. I will need to shorten the 8 foot ramps by
8" to clear the wing support tubes. I'll draw it up and measure the ramp angle
increase first but I am pretty sure it will be okay. Thanks!

Hi guys
I am planning a cross country for next June and looking for places to land and
stay. I will be leaving from Lethbridge, Alberta and heading for Nova Scotia taking
the Canadian route. The return trip will be thru the U.S....Maine, New York,
Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana, Illinios, Wisconsin, Minnesota, Dakotas, Montana
and maybe Arlington, Washington for the fly in by July. I am in no hurry
to get anywhere but want to enjoy the flight and if possible meet some of you
on this list. So if you or some one you know would like a distant friend to stop
in let me know and my Kitfox IV and I will stop by. Any and all ideas and suggestions
on where to stop or avoid would be appreciated. Thanks.

Interesting.
I understand the differences on hangar rent as you look at COL figures
across the country. I personally would love to have and do envy the grass
runways that are common in some parts of the country. The weather that goes
with most of them? No thanks, I am afraid. My guess is that Guy's weather
would permit him more than 300 good fly days a year, but he pays for that in
the cost of local real estate including hanger rents. I have likely the
same number of fly days and lack the opportunity for grass and the hangar
rent would be similar to Guy's. Maybe another way to calculate value would
be to factor in fly days with hanger rent and convenience. There has to be
a reason people choose to live in certain climates despite the costs
involved.
For me, I have an empty hangar less than 10 teet from where I sit typing
this. Getting my airplane out after pushing back from the breakfast table
took about five minutes, then a taxi to the runway gate short enough that I
had to wait another minute or two for warm up. I am fortunate to have lived
here for a while, but new construction is in the $850K to $1 mil range as we
gave become an extended bedroom community of the incredibly expensive San
Francisco Bay Area.
I guess it is all relative.

Just a rough calculation I think the drag on the winch when loading the
plane (511 lb. +) is pretty close to 250 lb. I can pull it up on the
trailer with out the winch but it's a lot of work. With 8' ramps you
probably won't even need a winch for loading.
My ramps were the length they are because that was the amount of screen I
could get.
Thanks.

Well definitely stop in Ramona, (KRNM,) NE of San Diego, CA. We'll
show you some hospitality. Also a bunch of us in the west are talking
about doing Oshkosh next year. I'd recommend that since it sounds
like we'll be able to generate a good Kitfox presence. (There it is
guys: K208, "Kitfoxes to Oshkosh in '08". Be there.)
