Hi Mic
Welcome to drop in and stay over here in Ontario. Located in Kitchener
area. There are several Kitfoxers around. Would be fun to do some flying
together.

Subject: Kitfox-List: cross country
Hi guys
I am planning a cross country for next June and looking for places to land
and stay. I will be leaving from Lethbridge, Alberta and heading for Nova
Scotia taking the Canadian route. The return trip will be thru the
U.S....Maine, New York, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana, Illinios, Wisconsin,
Minnesota, Dakotas, Montana and maybe Arlington, Washington for the fly in
by July. I am in no hurry to get anywhere but want to enjoy the flight and
if possible meet some of you on this list. So if you or some one you know
would like a distant friend to stop in let me know and my Kitfox IV and I
will stop by. Any and all ideas and suggestions on where to stop or avoid
would be appreciated. Thanks.

Plan to attend the Arlington Fly-In July 9 - 13, 2008 and be sure to visit the
WSPA Splash-In held 7 miles west on Lake Goodwin July 10 - 13. Give me a shout
and we will save a spot for you to camp at the lake.
Last year we had one Kitfox on floats. I hope to see more in '08.

Mark,
I'm a bit confused ....
Was the aircraft issued a true E-LSA airworthiness certificate by the
FAA under FAR Part 21...
.....or does it have the Experimental Amateur- Built airworthiness
certificate and also complies with the FAR 1.1 definition of LSA?
Respectfully,
Steve

Subject: | Vixen Landing gear |
Is anyone still using the composite landing gear that originally came with
the early Vixens?
And was this composite type gear ever used on the taildraggers?
Most pictures I see of the Kitfox V's and Vixens are now the aluminum
landing gear. If anyone has had the composite main gear and changed to a different
style I would like to know your opinion on both types.
Thanks,
Mark

The Avid MK IV was certified as an E-LSA. Not experimental. It could have
been certified as an experimental and just operated as an LSA but since I was
not the original builder ( I bought it 90% complete) I registered it as an
E-LSA and then certified it without needing to prove 51% was home built. About
75% of those interested in buying it wanted an LSA. Most early model Kitfoxes
will qualify under LSA requirements and could be used as an LSA. I think this
will be a growing market as the average age of active pilots goes up.

Subject: | Re: 7 vs 4 and 912 vs 914 |
Since you have owned both...how does your current mount feel in
comparison to your previous........
This is somewhat tough to do since it has been over 4 years since I've
flown a 4 and my 6-7 is so new but I will hit on the most obvious.
My model 4 had no pitch trim. Although pressures were very light and
manageable, it is nice to just trim my new one for stabilized climbs,
decents and cruise. Control pressures seem higher on the 6 than I
remember on the 4 but it's been a while. I just remember the 4 being
very manuervable and easy to feel and control. My new one is quite a
bit heavier but still very easy to feel the airplane, just feels a
little diffrent.
All in all I think Skystar did a very good job keeping the general look
and feel of the earlier models and made it more useful over a broader
range. As my time in the 6 increases, I'll try to post the things I
notice along the way.
I posted the pictures in the photoshare a few days ago.
