Implemented for the first time last year, the Matronics system selectively sends out the Contribution messages to those that forgot to whip out the 'ol credit card this year to support the continued operation and upgrade of the Matronics Email Lists! Don't you wish PBS worked that way? :-) You heard that right. Once you make your Contribution, these support requests messages during November will suddenly stop coming to your personal email inbox! I wanted to implement something like this for a number of years, but it was always such a daunting task to modify the back-end List processing code, that I just kept putting it off. Finally last year, I just decided to bite the bullet and put the code-pounding time it to make it work. A few days later, bam! A working system! I really do appreciate each and every one of your individual Contributions to support the Lists. It is your support that enables me to upgrade the hardware and software that are required to run a List Site like this. It also goes to pay for the commercial-grade Internet connection and to pay the rather huge electric bill to keep the computer gear running and the air conditioner powered up. I run ALL of the Matronics Email List and Forums sites here locally which allows me to control and monitor every aspect of the system for the utmost in reliably and performance. Your personal Contribution matters because when combined with other Listers such as yourself, it pays the bills to keep this site up and running. I accept exactly ZERO advertising dollars for the Matronics Lists sites. I can't stand the pop-up ads and all other commercialism that is so prevalent on the Internet these days and I particularly don't want to have it on my Email List site. If you appreciate the ad-free, grass-roots, down-home feel of the Matronics Email Lists, please make a Contribution to keep it that way!! http://www.matronics.com/contribution Thank you! Matt Dralle Matronics Email List Administrator [Please note the following regarding the selective posting system. There are certain circumstances where you might still see a Contribution related message. These situations include if someone replies to one of the messages, or when using the List Browse feature, or when accessing List message via the Forum. Since most of these are anonymous public access methods, there is no simple way to filter them.] ________________________________ Message 1 _____________________________________ Time: 03:06:23 AM PST US From: Steve Shinabery Subject: Re: Kitfox-List: Re: Hi all Kitfoxers No I wish that it was but that is Toney Stewart's Jet.it really is.he ows Eldora Speed Way.and it is close by.that pic was on a race night.Eldora Speed Way is one of the best dirt tracks in the country. So Toney does fly in alot.HEY if Toney can do it you can too Guy.. Tony Stewart's tail number ends in "TF"? Geez, you'd think he'd be able to "pull" his way into a number with his initials on it. Or buy a new plane.... On a related, but just as much "off topic" story, I had flown my Kitfox out to Jackson (JXN) airport during the August Nascar weekend, to watch the big boys fly in. I was waiting for the traffic to settle down a bit, then made a call to the tower for taxi instructions so I could leave. The tower forgot about me for about 10 minutes, during which a big jet taxied past me with N3RC on the tail. I recognized this plane as belonging to Richard Childress, Dale Earnhardt's former car owner. His plane parked and then the tower apologized to me for forgetting about me sitting there, with engine running. When I taxied by the Childress plane, a couple of guys turned and watched me go by, One grabbed the other's arm and pointed at my plane, obviously observing the big #3 on the tail. Another person coming down the ramp was told to look, but that wasn't Childress either. One of these days I'll write to Childress and ask if he would sign the tail of my plane....maybe even send him a copy of my article. Ditto on Steve's assessment of Eldora Speedway...been there, done that.... What happens here ? > Stalls and Spins -departure and approach I think also that stalls should have more intense training for departure and approach stalls. What happens when going too slow turning final and too wide? you feed more aileron then you need to straighten out your yaw with opposite rudder ==> BOOM you inverted at 300 AGL or less. Did they teach that in the "awareness course " ? I really doubt it , but it happens time and time again as does departure stalls. -------- Rotax Dealer, Ontario Canada Flying Videos and Kitfox Info http://www.cfisher.com/ Read this topic online here: http://forums.matronics.com/viewtopic.php?p=144862#144862 ________________________________ Message 5 _____________________________________ Time: 11:15:58 PM PST US From: Malcolmbru@aol.com Subject: Kitfox-List: Setting the GSC prop can you adjust the GSC prop for winter flight?
